- Caller: Individual
- Call type: Prank
- Concerned citizen replies to Irmgard PompeyThis is absolutely disgusting
- rarasmom replies to Irmgard PompeyMy mom received a call from this number today - and yes, it is a scam - girl called hysterical crying and used the name of one of my children which got my mom very upset...said she was in jail and needed $4000 (inflation) so $1000 more than the last post lol. Told her to go to the local CVS and get a green dot card and she would call back in an hour. When she called back my dad used some rather colorful language and ended the conversation. What low lifes - praying on emotions of the elderly and actually used a name of one of their grandchildren. My poor mother was shaking when I got to her house, she was so upset. These people should die a horrible death!!

Go to Wallmart and deposit 3000 dollars into the Green Money Pack, for her Bail. I was very upset the hear my Granddaughter (Fake) cry. I wonder how many poor Grandparents fall for this. took me a while to find out that this is a scam.
- Hatemesometelemarketers replies to Concerned and upsetSomething can be done about it. Stop putting your entire life on FB and other social media. How do you think they get this type of information? It astounds me how much personal info people put on FB alone. One woman I know personally, literally puts every single thing her boys do every single day complete with pictures and locations. Her home would be an easy one to rob. She also posts when she is out of town on business, what she has for dinner every night etc. It is ridiculous.
- Hatemesometelemarketers replies to LindeThis happened to my ex bosses mother. She lives alone and probably shouldn't and one of her grandsons is a flight attendant. He travels all over the world. She got the call and instead of calling her son, she followed the instructions except she went to her bank to get the cash. She doesn't use debit cards. The third withdrawal triggered the attention of the bank cashier and they discovered what was happening. But she had already lost around $10000 which she will never get back.
I mean wouldn't you call your son or daughter to find out what is going on with the grandkid? One of the things the caller does is say don't tell mom and/or dad. blah blah blah.
Stop putting all of your personal info on FB or other social media. That is where they get the info from. - PhoolI was just gave my credit card number, exp date, and security number on the back by someone from this phone # thinking I was placing an order. Unfortunate timing and lack of diligence on my part led to this: I had just left a message with an out of town florist to place an order with a request they call me back. Minutes later a person from this 866# called, was very friendly, and I asked if this was the florist instead of having her identify herself. Big mistake. She said yes, took my order and all my credit card information. Fortunately the real florist called me back shortly and I was able to cancel the credit card, after trying to call this 866# only to find it was blocked. Thank you for this blog which helped me identify this scam and cancel my card before there were any charges.
