- Peter| 1 replyGot two apparent phishing letters today; no return address.
The letterhead was "US Airlines"; slogan, "Fly the US Skies". Both signed "Barbara Dion" (in different hands - kind of a giveaway there); both hand-addressed and stamped.
The gist of the letter was that I had "qualified for an award of 2 roundtrip airline tickets."
Callback phone number was 866-740-8245. (8667408245, for those searching in that format).
Looked up that number on tollfreenumber.com, which reports that it's owned by Alliance Group Services, which looks to be just provisioning the line, not actually using it.- Caller: unknown
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Joe replies to PeterAlso reveived a phishing letter from US Airlines with a different phone # 866-740-2253
- JThe line was dead when I picked up the call, but I had the number on my caller ID at work where I received the call. Number: 1-866-793-8068.
- Caller: Unknown
- MelAlso received letter from " US Airlines" from Barbara Dillion for 2 roundtrip tickets... Signed by B Dillion in very small handwritting. The Envelope was handwritten in a plain envelope with no advertising logo on the outside . Definently a phishing letter ...
- Caller: US Airlines

The folks that posted here also got letters from this Barbara Dion and one person persued the matter further :
Just got off the phone and Barbara was out but I talked to
one of her assistants who said she was allowed to help me. I was
given great information and this company is located in Phoenix
Arizona and they are marketing for Universal Travel Vacations…an
Award Redemption Company. This phone call was shaping up to be real
informative and I could not wait to get my airline tickets. I was
told that I just needed to attend a 90 minute presentation between
now and January 8th here in Nashville at 624 Grassmere Park Drive
and if I confirmed at 866-995-7147 I could also get a two night
stay at a hotel. Oh did I mention about the free airline tickets, I
was to only have to pay around 50 bucks which are the taxes. I set
my appointment, that I do not intend to keep, and will lose my
hotel stay and will not get my airline tickets but at least I
confirmed that Barbara is not real and all the information received
from my sales person is now out for everyone to see.

Interesting to read the posts..
Happy New Year Everryone !! Better Times Ahead !! - MikeAlso received the mailer requesting a phone call to 866-740-2253 (8667402253). Looked like a government tax form or form check with the perforated edges revealing the US Airlines logo and a "voucher" for 2 airline tickets. Based upon the above information and putting two and two together, it's the Vacation Station promoting some high-pressure sales presentation for a vacation "membership" which is supposed to give you access to great deals. What do you bet that it's overpriced, even worthless?

Red flags:
From the web site - having to bring a credit card is certainly interesting....:
"...so please remember to bring the proper identification as these locations are not open to the public and are by appointment only. Appropriate identification is a photo ID, such as a driver's license or state issued ID as well as a major credit card. Also Remember that debit cards and ATM cards are considered insufficient identification...."
From the BBB:
"Based on BBB files, Vacation Station, the has a BBB Rating of C on a scale from A+ to F."- Caller: The Vacation Station
- Call type: Telemarketer
