I got this number on a letter from US Airlines telling me to contact them because I had won two roundtrip airlines tickets.  I did not call the number.

I also received a letter allegedly from US Airlines and wants me to call 866-740-8399. This letter does not even look like a letter from US Airlines. They are based out of Tempe, AZ and my postmark was from Phoenix AZ.
Even the logo is wrong. US Airlines uses an image of an American Flag and not the crap shown on this letter. I also did not call the number.

Got the same letter. Came on here and did a quick search to confirm my suspicions. This is a new scam for me, I usually get emails or calls but never Postal mail.

I got the same letter from "US Airlines", supposedly saying we'd won two roundtrip tickets for anywhere in the Continental US.  Yeah, the letterhead looked cheap and it doesn't match the real logo.  I did a search on the Vice President's names from US Airlines because the letter is signed from "Laura Shane, Vice President".  There is no Laura Shane listed in the US Airlines VP directory online.  I then contacted US Airlines via. email and told them about this and asked them to verify the letter.  I'm pretty positive that this is NOT legit.  And yes, the postmark on the front of the letter says Phoenix.  Obviously this is a scam.  Shame on them!

I called the number and its not a scam just a travel company trying to get people to come listen for an hour to a presentation in Valencia, CA.  They will give you 2 airline tickets for doing so but you are responsible for paying the taxes (about $50/ ticket).  I declined.  It is a deceiving but I don't think they are a total scam - never asked for a credit card or other personal info...

Yes, they are a total scam. There is no such air carrier called "US Airlines" as reported by other posters above. There is US Air and United Airlines but "US Airlines" does not exist. This site http://www.kls2.com/airlines/n-america.html lists all North American carriers and "US Airlines" isn't on it. It's your $50/ticket "tax" the scammers are after. Once you send that off, you'll either never hear from them again or there will be some problem where you will have to send additional money. It's a scam. There are no tickets and no presentation. It's just another variation of the lure-you-to-a-presentation scam.

Same thing.  Hand written envelope with no return address and did not look like company stationary. Letterhead is weird looking and appears to a photocopy.  No address on letterhead and the purpotd VP is not a typical salutation or letter ending.  I was immediately suspicious not a very good attempt on their part.  I was surprized it was a mailing.

You mean US Airways' logo is the flag. There is no US Airlines.

Yep. Same deal. Said that it was from a travel agency in the Valley. This has to be the worst planned and executed scam that I have ever seen. Black and white photographed stationary? You have to be kidding me. What amateurs.

I received the same suspicious letter. From the envelope you could tell that it is something wrong.
Any company will have their company name and address on the envelope.

I received the same letter today, no return address or contact information on the letter or envelope.  Checking the internet now to see if it is a scam.  It appears so by the numerous posts here.  Thank you!
