- takeaseat| 1 replyI got a call from a company that posted a collection to my credit report that I have no ideal of, when I contacted them I was told that it was mines and they would not provide proof as they no longer have records and they are the new owners and the statue of limitations starts over on debt reporting on my credit report. I was mad at first until I realized they play dumb put on your credit report (if you have good credit beware) to hope you call in. I got the good cop bad cop treatment, when i started to break down and cry long and behold the closer calls me to tell me how sorry he feels for me and the other guy is a jerk and insists on giving me a settlement of less than 30% of the debt they allege. Im no fool I said im mad not dumb ill call back when i get my mind right. Long and behold I do some research and realize this is the new company Joe Willis , Joe Dassa started after he had to many complaints from JD Enterprises. They buy zoombie debts and use high pressure sales to get you to pay to make it go away. They know smart consumers will fight it so they have to resolve and clear up everything including your check in 30 days. Dont get me wrong some of their debts may be within the SOL (first or seconds ) but most are thirds that have no claim just file with the FTC , credit company (transunion they use) and State attorney if you rights have been violated. They will try to move rapidly so take a breathe and do your homework. They prey on peoples emotions to make them go away.

- Alfalfa replies to takeaseatTough cookies. No debt validation, no debt. It's that simple. Tell them that the next time they call. While you are at it, let them know the call is being recorded (legal in most states), and you intend to have them prosecuted for (among other things), multiple violations of the FDCPA.
How can I verify whether or not a debt collector is legitimate?
Here are a few warning signs that could signal a debt collection scam:
The debt collector threatens you. Legitimate debt collectors probably won't claim that they'll have you arrested or claim that they or their employees are law enforcement officers.
The debt collector refuses to give you information about your debt or is trying to collect a debt you do not recognize. You have certain rights to ask a debt collector to verify the debt. You can use this sample letter to request this information. Ask for an explanation in writing before you pay.
The debt collector refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number.
The debt collector asks you for sensitive personal financial information. You should never provide anyone with your personal financial information unless you are sure they're legitimate.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his or her name, company, street address, telephone number, and professional license number. Many states require debt collectors to be licensed. Check the information the caller provides you with your state officials, or the state in which the debt collector holds a license. If the caller refuses or is unable to provide you with information about his company, or if you can’t verify the information he provides, do not give money to the caller or company.
Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." This notice must include:
The amount of the debt
The name of the creditor you owe
A description of certain rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, consider requesting this information in writing or seeking assistance before paying the debt to make sure the debt, and the company, are valid.
Tip: You can consider sending the collector a letter requesting the information by using one of the CFPB's sample letters. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB or you can contact your state Attorney General’s office.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know the company or person you are talking with is a real debt collector. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft such as:
Charging your existing credit cards
Opening new credit card or checking accounts
Writing fraudulent checks
Taking out loans in your name
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Submit a complaint with the CFPB or get in touch with your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers.
Stop speaking with the caller. If nothing else works and you believe the calls are fraudulent, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files.
Tip: You can use this sample letter to write a letter demanding the debt collector stop contacting you. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Tip: If you're having trouble with debt collection, you can submit a complaint with the CFPB online or by calling (855) 411-CFPB (2372).

***A company must be licensed in their state as well as the one they are trying to collect in if two different states are involved.
Some Tips:
*Keep all messages
*Take a picture of your Caller ID
*Keep any and all conversations recorded to your states recording laws, some require they be told, others do not. This can be transferred to a recording device.
*Keep a notebook handy for writing time, date, who you spoke with and what the conversation detailed.
*Check your SOL for your state as well.
*Attorneys need to be licensed as a DC to collect, all DC's must be licensed in their state as well as yours if different.

- MidNYteStormDon't forget that debt collectors have been known to harass innocent third because they are calling outdated numbers.
I know this is a certified fact since I have received calls from debt telemaggoters looking for complete strangers . In my experience, they continue to call even after being told they have the wrong number.
So if you are getting calls for somebody you never heard, simply ignore them and consider the option of a call blocker. - Yoda1725 replies to CWG40http://www.leagle.com/decision/In%20FDCO%2020 ... CIAL%20SERVICES
http://www.stik.com/p/other+professional+serv ... e/p/joe.dassa.7 This might be him. - RelentlessBeen harrassed by these New Millennium scums months ago, here is my two cents:
1. They could only afford to purchse outdated SOL. For my case, the debtor is NOT even me, just some imaginary roomates from an address I was never on, ridiculous POS.
2. They DID NOT and will never send you anything in form of letter. Don't believe in their lies, they NEVER send anything to you and you DID NOT miss anything from them.
3. If they are stupid enough to mail you anything, then BINGO!
4. Besides reporting to California Attorney of General, and Consumer Affair, and BBB or whatsoever... Please go find an attorney like I did. Do not worry about the money. Lawyer will ONLY charge on those scammers but you since it is an easy win and easy money. But you have to get anything in paper first and remember to keep their voicemail like I do. If they refuse to send you anything (which is my case), that is okay, ask TransUnion to request from them and you can legally receive a copy from TransUnion, then you will win and Cha Ching! $1500 in your pocket once you win the case!
5. For people who have good credit scores, they intimate you through ruinning your credit score, and threaten to report to 2 other credit bureaus. Please remember to lock your credit score for 2 other bureaus to buy your same safety. Though I think they only use TransUnion now.
6. File the dispute to TransUnion, of course. And yes, the new millinnium scamer will harass you again once they receive the validation notice. They will tell you the BS of TransUnion having no right to remove the account, and pity, they are right. The first dispute will be a failure since TransUnion is in passive mode. It is some online form for them to click on "yes" and "submit". Then you can file another dispute which will escalate the investigation level to a more active way, at least they will ask for proof of debt from creditors. Ask TransUnion to provide you a copy if they really have one. Work with your lawyer with that copy.
7. You are always not alone, search for "New Millennium concepts TransUnion" you will see how people fight with these scammers. If you are/were targeted, you are unlucky, but within 2-3 months they will have to fold or face lawsuit.
8. Last, the most important. If the debt is not real, which is 99% for their case, DO NOT PAY ANY DIME TO THEM. You might be a millionaire and you can afford a grand or $500 or whatever, but their problem is they are NOT legit, they don't provide you any proof, nothing on the paper, and they always lie to you, how are you sure they will NOT use the same [***] to threaten you again? DO NOT SETTLE WITH THEM, find an attorney, file complaints to CAG and Consumer department, once it reaches a certain quantities of complaints, CAG will fill a class lawsuit against them.- Caller: New Millennium concepts

- Jane DoeIf you receive a call from:
JD ENTERPRISE
NEW MILLENNIUM CONCEPTS, INC.
DEBT ALLEVIATION SYSTEMS, INC.
report this to the BBB, CFPB and FTC ... while you are at it, the state attorney general immediately. This company is a debt buyer, not a collection agency. Yes, there is a difference. They are not accredited by the BBB, they frequently change their phone numbers and like others have stated, they are JUNK DEBT BUYERS that have no documentation. They use scare tactics to collect. They use illegal tactics like changing the compliance date on your credit report to keep the account listed longer. They have no documentation to support their ridiculous fees, finance charges and assigned balances. Likely, these accounts have been sold multiple times by the time they have received your file. Help bring them down and bring awareness to the FTC. Just like they had to change their name from JD ENTERPRISE, because there were numerous complaints. They are now operating as NEW MILLENNIUM CONCEPTS, but it is the same people. Same rude, illegal tactics. They are not an attorney!- Caller: NEW MILLENNIUM CONCEPTS

They are absolutely the most nasty people I have ever see, whenever I think of them, I feel like puke. Do not have conversation with them, just tell them to stop harrassing you. Report them to California General Attn, because that will force them to write you a letter and to explain why they are after you. Keep filing disputes in written form to Credit Bureau. And please don't be hestitated to hire an attorney. They will soon run out of business with more lawsuits after them. They don't deserve to exist in this world.- Caller: New Millennium Concepts
