- Mary| 2 repliesI received a call on my work number from an Alice Smith telling me I was being sued and going to be served at my home and place of employment. I was told to call Sterling & Roberts @ 866-765-0445 to avoid this. No idea what its for and don't care. I've been getting these kinds of calls for years from these kinds morons that think people are dumb enough to fall for their scam.

- Liz| 1 replyI received a call at my work from a lady named Heather from Nationwide Process Servers saying I have to call Sterling and Roberts at 866-765-0445. the guy was so rude and said i had a loan from 2008. he gave me the last 4 of the checking account number which isn't even mine. i told him to stop calling my work and harrassing me. he said it's not against the law to do so and i said it is because i used to work in collections so i know the deal. he kept yelling and was even putting words in my mouth that i did not say. he refused to send me a copy of this so-called loan i so-called applied for. i also told him if they don't stop calling i will go to the police. the lady heather said i have been officially notified and will be served either at work or at home. servers never call you to notify you they need to serve you with papers. this is so fraud!

- VickieI too received a call on my cell phone from 866-765-0445, the guy said his name is Grady Clifton with an attorney's office, could have been Berling & Robert or Sterling & Robert (didn't really care because the number came up on my caller ID as "unavailable"). They were calling for my daughter. It's a bunch of crap, trying to get money from people. They have also called my daughter's work number and her friends. We have spoken to an attorney and it is illegal for someone to call you back when you tell them not to. SUCH DISHONEST, LOSER, IDIOTS OUT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- Caller: Sterling & Robert
- markThis so called law firm called me about a payday loan I took out in 08. I knew I took it out, but still checked my bank records to verify the facts. It was never paid back so I called back and paid it. If I didn't take it I would not have paid, but I would rather deal with my debt than pretend it never happened. I also received a paid letter on my email. I would have preffered if their number did not appear unavailable.

- GCSomeone phoned my cell and left message stating she had documents and a summons that would be served either at my residence or my place of employment. The paperwork had been "filed," and she would be in my area on Wednesday and would place a courtesy call two hours before "serving." The call came through as unavailable ID on my display and I was unable to Google the number at that moment, so had someone else do it for me, which is when I found out it was a scam. It was the third similar call in two days. I have filed a complaint with the attorney general's office on the three numbers placing these calls. These people should be strung up. These are extremely upsetting, time consuming to follow up/act on, and none of us have that kind of time in our lives to waste!

- smittsI got a call from them today ... the only loan i have ever had is a student loan which has been paid ...so I called the sherriff's office and told them what the voicemail said. I also called to county clerk 's office to make sure that it wasn't them looking for me... the lady there told me that they are impersonating a government official and can be imprisoned for it... so next time they call, I look forward to a rather entertaining conversation... what abunch of bottom feeders.

- rds4I have received about 4 or 5 messages from these "unavailable" lawyers. The latest one they are trying to use is that they are from UPS and have a summons they need to deliver & if I have any questions I need to call this Sterling & Roberts or whatever and be sure to mention the summons number. This is obviously a 3rd party collection agency of some kind which does not fall under all of the same laws as other agencies. As this economy continues to spiral out of control we are going to be seeing much more of this kind of activity as so-called "businesses" try to do whatever they can to stay in business.

- Connie replies to Mary| 1 replyI received the same calls. I researched the company, Sterling & Roberts, LLC. The address came up 1002 Winchester Road, Manchester, NH 03104 - Nothing was found. Then I found that company had another address listed which is 497 Hooksett Road, Manchester, NH 03104. I then typed that address in Google and found out that it is a UPS Store. You can view a satelite image to the front of the building. Zoom down to street level then you will find the so-called business that has a van with a trailer attached and an empty sign post. These are the cheesy people who are harrasing us. This is going to be an entertaing fraud investigation.
- icheckuponit replies to ConnieHey, just an fyi, I called that UPS store, and they have about 200 mailboxes in their store that people use, so this is not their physical addresss. They have not given you a physical address. How surprising...
- LINDATHESE PEOPLE ARE [***]............they even called my mothers house saying they were from teh sherriffs office and needed to serve me papers. I spoke to them last week and told them they need to send me verification of the loan, i could not remember getting a loan. They said no, they will serve me at my home or work. I said give me your number and I will call you back. I refuse to call them back and now I guess they want me to be scared about being served....If they dont send me a bill or notification of debt, I will see them in court. After reading this page it all look like its a fraud anyway.

- KatHave been receiving messages for a while now from "Unknown" numbers, which I never answer. Some are telemarketer-types, but this one states Rachel is from "United Process Servers" and had a case#CN2-#### for my husband. Heh. His first wife is a collections person, so he knows the things they say better than I do. But I also used to do Process Server work back in the late 80's with my former husband.
The message stated that there is a court date on 7/8 but not which court. I figured it was just a collections place, glad this site is here to validate my suspicions. So, the next question is whether they will stop calling after 7/8's court date? LOL somehow I doubt it! Will continue to let all unknown calls go straight to Voicemail.- Caller: United Process Servers

- paulaWhen I got home today there was a call on the machine from Amy of United Servers. She wants to contact me to serve me with legal papers. If you have questions I am to call the plaintif at 1-866-765-0445 and refer to your file BAL 12315. I get 1 of these calls about every 3 months, I just ignore them at this point. I just let the answering machine deal with it.
