They called me in my cell phone nos. and told me that i did pay someone with my Bank of America cheque and was even told that i was sued and subpoena letter will be coming in the mail.   In order for me to stop that harrasment, they can help me out.   I told the man that I never have a Bank of America cheque ever since we open the account and its a saving account and had never touch said account.    He is really persistent for me to give more information and I knew its a scam, so i just hang up the phone.     Please be aware of this nos.  866 775 5393 from a debt collector.

This same number called me today and left a message stating it is a urgent message but did not state to whom this message was for so really it could have been for anyone. They stated "We are calling from a claims department in regards to a check fraud that was filed under your social security number." They provided the toll free number of 866-775-5393 but did not state what their name was or extension number. I called the number back, was not able to reach an operator so I left a message stating they had left a message by mistake. They called back a few minutes later, I did not answer but they did not leave a message.

I just received a call from this number in reference to a payday loan that I had taken out in 2009. He stated that there is a claims against me in small claims court and that I will be receiving a subpoena to appear in court shortly and would I rather deal with the court system or have him help me with the issue. I said I take my chances in court. He stated his name was Dan Willard.

It's a scam designed to scare people into paying for loans they may not even owe.  No one gives a heads up before serving papers to anyone - the court process server just shows up and hands you the documentation.  If he calls back, let him know you've reported him to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  Also tell him that the FBI is monitoring and recording all calls from the caller to you.

Same just happened to me. Some kind of check fraud bull crap. How do we shut this guy down

DAN WILLARD called my dad from -1-877-319-7625 extention 202. Called on Nov 13, 2013 saying that my dad
had a "CHECK FRAUD COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST YOU IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY" well my dad never
bounces checks. FRAUDULENT!!!!!

The latest number Dan Willard  "in claims" is calling from is 866-751-6676 ext 202. He called my work number and a distant relative that I never use as a reference. He told my distant relative they are going to serve me with a subpoena and left a voice message on my work phone. Here's the transcription...
"This message is intended for XXXX XXXX. This is Dan Willard in the claims department in reference to your county district calling in regards to a check fraud complaint which is actually being filed against you in XXXX County. It is imperative that I speak with you or your attorney today to advise you of the allegations being filed against you. This is not a solicitation. This does warrant your immediate response."
This is a phishing scam. They try to scare you into giving your personal info like SS #, and credit card #'s. NO idea how they get this information but they will say anything to get your personal info. They choose people who have had a payday advance in the past.

While I did not get a phone call from this guy (that I know of at least, it seems that there are scam calls coming in everyday from some random number though, so he certainly could have called as well) but I got an email from this "Law Office of Daniel Willard." The general thesis of the email is that I have 17 counts of "cheque fraud" against me. Below is the main paragraph, but it goes on and on and on...

"The Legal Affidavit States that you Was Monitored online Using your Email Address In Order To Solicited Funds From a Website which is Own and Operated By Cash Advance USA..The Funds Were Successfully Transferred Into Your Bank account  Utilizing an interstate EFT ( That stands for Electronic Funds Transfer ) But at The Time Of repayment When the Compney Attempted To Extract The Funds Back there were  6 EFT's Returned Constituting Worthless Electronic Cheque , So As of Now Rather Than Chasing You For Money The compney  Have Simply Decided to write This money as a loss and deemed to be stolen As well as press charges against you in your state under your social security number .In Total My Clients have got 17 technical Proof against you approved by Internet and legal research department and also by cyber crime department
This is to inform you that NON repayment of payday loan can be reported by the Lander's to any of the credit Beaureu causing severe damage to your credit score.

The poor spelling and grammar were a pretty big tip-off, but I was actually scared for a minute, before I googled the name. Watch out for these people y'all, I just found a threatening voicemail from them on my cell phone from a "No Called ID" phone call from earlier today. Freaking losers.

I also received a vague threatening message with no information regarding who it was from. The first call I made was to: 855-288-4306 and I spoke to someone named "dan" who was so rude and apparently looking for a relative of mine, that I called the number left on my voicemail which was 877-209-5234 and spoke to someone who said his name was jake Wilson. I am not sure if it is a scam, but "jake" said dans last name is Willard's, so it sounds like what everyone else is experiencing.
