hangup calls...might be aaa as my membership recently expired...

Same I bought furniture from Leon. then those annoying call occurs. Leon has no respect to ours privacy... I would suggest a legal action against them

Received a non-responsive call from 1-866-786-3394 IDed as "Tenor CMS Gateway".  I called the number and was told it was "Emerald Research" and could be reached at 1-888-268-2136.  When I called "Emerald Research", I was asked to leave my number for a return call.  I didn't leave my number.

They have called 4 times today 10/21/08.  I disconnected each call.  I am registered on the DO NOT CALL list and have been for 2 years.  The identification that comes is 'telemarkerter'

I just received a call from this number and they finally left a message. It was a recorded voice from AAA reminding me to renew my roadside assistance.

I did recently purchase fourniture at Leon also, now I'm getting these annoying call from survey companies right onto my cellphone.

I purchased furniture a month and a half ago from Leons and it was delivered three days ago. I already got 4 calls today from this number and my wife picked up the last one. No one on the other side...not even a recording. Leons is gonna hear it from me tomorrow (they already got an earful from my wife because the hutch they delivered (Made in China of course) was damaged on the inside. This was my first and last purchase froms Leons. I cannot believe they put my phone number on a calling list without permission.

I hope the guy, who lives in Palo Alto can see this msg, and stop calling me, otherwise, I will sue hime back. just wait and see. God knows what you're doing, stop calling any more, and be a gentleman, be a "MAN"!!

call every day

I have not dealt with any of the companies that have been listed in the above comments.  When I received a call from this number they had hung up.  Two days later I received a similiar call from 909-842-9107, and I looked that number up on this website.  I wonder if anyone abover also got calls from the 909 area code number aS WELL.

I had previously registered my phone numbers with the national do not call list and used Google to search for a "Do Not Call complaint" web-page and filed a complaint.

I answered the phone and their was no one on the line so i called it back and here it was for AAA about our membership

Call came to Kansas on 2-6-09 @11:18 hours. Not answered and no message left. The best idea for this number that it goes to Tenor CMS Gateway and represents several customers including AAA and the large Canadian furnature store Leon's Furnature. One of our posters placed this post in September, 2007, suggesting a Voice Over Protocall outfit.

Nobody on the line when I picked up the phone.

When I called back and was told, like "AF" above that my number did not correspond to any clients (or something like that) and I should enter a phone number. I have Vonage with 2 numbers on it, so I punched in my other phone number and was told they they were trying to contact me concerning the "Leons customer appreciation event taking place this Saturday. Press '1' to be removed from the call list." (which I did.)

Leons is a furniture store and I did make purchases from them and I do receive advertising mail from them.

Based on my experience and the other comments above, I am assuming:

- The company calling (let's call it ANNOY-INC) provides the service of contacting customers from other companies, attempting to automatically inform them of events or provide them with information. Presumably, in addition to Leons Furniture, they also provide this service to Columbia House, AAA, and probably others.
- Your phone number got on the list because you (or the person who had your phone number before you) gave it to somebody.
- When I search for "Tenor CMS Gateway" on Google, I come across a provider of VoIP technologies called QUINTUM.COM, so I'll bet ya that ANNOY-INC bought this technology and set up a phone number under the name of "Tenor CMS Gateway" because that's the name on the VoIP box they bought.
- When you call back they try to match your number (or the number you punch in) against their list of phone numbers, associated with any number of offers/programs/events/promotions/companies etc. and if found can play the appropriate response. For me it was Leons, EJ got some PETA propaganda, Timmy C got Columbia House, etc.
- The reason they can't be heard much of the time is that they're using VoIP and it's hardly the most reliable phone system mankind has invented.
- If you can punch in a phone number they're looking for, I assume pressing '1' will actually you off the list...until I buy something else at Leons."

Calls coming from this number is getting ridiculous and all on my cell minutes.  Can we do anything to put a stop to it besides write our comments here?!

I just ordered furniture from Leons....This is what I get to look forward to.

This number has been calling my phone 3x per day for the last 3 days.  When I call it back, it says the call cannot be completed as dialed.

Called 4 times in one day and just hung up each time.

i got this call today.  didn't answer, but called it back and got an automated response that it was AAA calling to remind me my membership was up for renewal.  it also offered me a prompt to get on their do-not-call list.
