well today i was at SAM's Club @ 4:51 pm in the bathroom doing a number 2....when this number called i did not pick up because i do not know who that is, and they left no message..
so i am back home and now i am going to call them.......please hold....

same number called again...should i use Google voice now for them?

Have been getting calls all week.  Caller id shows as unavailable, but caller leaves a message asking for me by name, says she's calling from BB&T, and leaves this number for me to return the call.  I have no accounts with BB&T and was ignoring the calls, but when she called again for the umpteenth time this morning I got fed up and answered.  She claimed to be calling from BB&T collections.  I said I didn't have any active accounts with BB&T and asked her to please stop calling.  She claimed I owed something regarding a "consecrated" account and asked me for my address to "verify my identity".  I refused to provide it since I basically didn't trust that she was who she said she was, and told her I'd call BB&T collections back after I looked up the official number.  She replied, "Oh, so you're refusing to pay?"  I told her I'd be happy to validate my personal information to clear my name *after* I validated her contact information.  She gave me this same 866 number again, with a partial account number to reference when I called back.

I then visited my local BB&T branch and asked for their collections dept. number (since I couldn't find it on their web site and couldn't find a way to get a human on their advertised 800 number, grrr).  It was different than this one.  I called and she could not find any reason for them to be calling me.  She then offered to call this number for me, and when she got back to me she told me that it was legitimate, just for credit card collections instead of account collections, and that I should return the call.

When I did finally call this number back, they had no record of any activity regarding me or my account.  They didn't even have my current phone number on file (the one that the lady initially called), just an old phone number from when I'd had a car loan with them years previously.  She also said that Collections didn't even deal with account numbers so she had no idea what to do with the partial account number I'd been given.  She also said nobody should ever be calling from this number or giving it out.

So although this number appears to be a legitimate BB&T Collections number, it also appears that someone is using it illegitimately, although I have no idea why since return calls don't seem to be going to them.  Strange.  Be wary what information you give out.

Also received a call from this number.  I called the main custom service number as listed on the BB&T website.  They confirmed this number as legitimate.  For some reason the number that called is not listed on the main website.  Would be nice if it were to avoid any confusion.

Got a call from this number today looking for my ex husband.  It came across my Caller ID as BB&T and the person who left the message identified himself as calling from BB&T.  I called it back and the lady indicated that they try all numbers they have or that have been associated with the person they are trying to reach in an effort to reach them.  I also called my local branch and they confirmed it is legit.

Called our house at 8:26 PM with this number and "BBT" in the caller ID.  I answered because a relative used to live with us and had a debit card with BB&T.  A lady asked for Wayne ______?  I couldn't understand the last name. I don't know anyone named Wayne, but asked her to repeat the name because I didn't catch it all.  I still didn't understand all she was saying, but let her know she must have dialed a wrong #.  Hey Wayne, whoever you are, BBT's looking for you.

This number 1st called as capital one then as BBT . I have neither of them.  The start calling at 8sm and stop at 8:55pm. FCC has had several calls and complaints.  What's going on?
