I received a notice in the mail regarding an "interest rate increase", with the above "case manager" contact number. It suggests I call to sign up for federal programs sponsored by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Received that notice today (9/23/2019). Called and a woman answered "rate reduction department, this is Melissa speaking". It struck me odd that she did not identify the parent company; I chalked it up to a scam and pleaded 'my bad, wrong number' and hung up.Rate reduction programs (e.g. VA IRRRL) do exist, but the refinance process is typically if not always initiated by the borrower, not through direct solicitation. Steer clear of these ads.

Got the same notice today, stating that it's our Final Notice.  I appreciate the information here.  I'll add this to the shred pile.

No such thing as a "VA Rate Reduction Department."
