Caller ID said unavailable name, with #866-823-1678.  I did not answer.

Keep getting calls from this number.  Keep asking for my name and number, but will not tell me who they are.  I stopped answering the phone.  They have yet to leave a message.

refuse to identify company or why they are calling. They do not leave messages on voicemail

Stupid Scholastic Books - We didn't order, they keep calling saying we owe them money for books we marked return to sender. If we never received it and signed for it, i don't see how they can continue this.

keep calling and don't answer

I dont even have contact with scholastic books so it can't be them. But they have called my cell twice and have not left any messages on my voicemail neither have I answered it

I had a missed call on my cell phone.  I called back later and they said it's regarding a personal business matter.  So, I gave my phone number again and my name.  They said they have so many people with my name and asked if I was from various cities, when I kept saying No, he told me to give my social, I said "I don't think so" and he said "we can't find the information without it." I told him I would wait until they called back.  I've never heard of this before.  Any other company would have my phone number on file don't you think?

They will not provide why they are callin until you verify your address. They said by law they cannot provide the persons personal business matter until the address has been verified. I told her if she didn't tell me who she was calling behalf before I verified my address I was going to hang up. She refused and I hung up!

Received call @ 7:44pm on this day.  The caller did not identify themself just asked me to verify my address.  Stated that I joined a book club thru my son's school LAST YEAR.  We NEVER joined nor did we ever receive any books!  My issue isn't with the collection agency but with Scholastic Books!  BEWARE!

asked to speak with either me or my husband, asked a call to be returned to this number at x2172 and ask for Raymond. Claimed it was a confidential business matter. When I asked what company he was with he said something that sounded like ECC

Person calling asked for my daughter. When asked what the call was about he said it was personal business. Pressed for more info and he was rude. Gave name as "Frank" and company as "ECC".

Company was ECC. They are a debt collector for Doubleday Book Club.

Caller ID said it was from Lester L. Burton. Since I don't know a Lester L. Burton with a toll free # I didn't bother answering the phone

Calls all hours of the day, as late as 9:45 Eastern. I finally got tired of listening to phone ring and picked it up. The person on the other end (obviously not a native English speaker) said I owed $91 for books I had never ordered or received. He asked for my name, address, phone number and SSAN. I refused and told him to send me a bill. He said he couldn't do that unless I gave him my address and if I didn't pay this debt it would be entered on my credit report. I asked how he was going to do that without my SSAN and HE hung up on ME!

Call was from a Lester Burton, asked for a person at a different address and I said I did not live there.  She said they would call back.  When I asked what the call was regarding she refused to give any info and since she could hardley speak English I didn't argue.  ANNOYING!!!

Caller id says 866-823-1678.. Said his name was Ken something, kept asking for someone (was me, but wasn't going to tell him that!). I kept asking who he was with... ECC I finally got out of him. I said what is that, collection or something. Couldn't understand.
Now that I read all your posts, I'm glad I did not answer it was me! I too have not ordered any books. I don't get, our # is on the National Do Not Call registry... how'd this company get my name & #?
They call at least once a day. Today was the 1st I answered it... because I wanted to see who "Burton, Lester L" was!
I'm sick & tired of all these types of calls!! Next time they call, they will get an ear full!!
I only wish I had a air horn!!!
