Called, left no message.

Merrick Bank automated call. I called it back and got an agent. I have an account with a past due balance, so it was a vaild call -- NOT a scam call.

Screened a call from this #. no msg.

Merrick Bank calling--payment past due

merrick bank i was 35.00 late. So they call 100 times a day for their money. Seriously sometimes people forget when they have a death in the family or something bad happens. I think they could of just sent next months bill with it on it.  why harrass people over 35.00, not like i am that behind!

Left message, unintelligible muttrring, them hmmmm... like humming  - very strange

Call answered by human. Transferred me to Fraud department. Held for 16 minutes then  one ring then silence and a hangup!

debt collections laws they are only allowed to call 2 times per day anything else is harrassment if they sue you prove to judge they violated that law in the end the collector will owe you money

You should take the time to actually read the law before putting foolish posts up that purposely mislead people.  Well, at least you won't be misleading that person since she posted here in 2020 and will never see your post.  Federal Collection Law (FDCPA) does not apply to the original creditor which is what this bank is.

Maybe it was for you, but that doesn't mean others couldn't get a call from a scammer pretending to be from the bank.  Common sense should help everyone at this point to figure out if the caller was because they owe the Bank money or if it's some scammer trying to steal some.
