Junk fax from "Trump Map Co". Provides a removal number (866-282-8543). If you google the removal number you'll see complaints for the same map company using different names. SCUM. Reported unwanted junk fax to FCC.

FRUADSTERS trolling fax machines looking for victims - claims to selling maps, but what they really want are credit card numbers .... Don't fall for the scam, these folks scum......

OK- Here's what I discovered.

I received a junk fax today, December 27th, 2010,  from "Trump Map Co." A line at the bottom reads "CALL (866) 282-8543 to be removed". When I called, I heard the same french/ english voice others complained about.

I dialed *69 on my fax machine and learned the last incoming call was from (302) 543-4136. I called that number only to get a constant busy signal.

Then I did some research with a reverse number service and learned that (302) 543-4136 belongs to:

I also learned that Patrick Keane, listed as the contact person of "The Street Map Company" was named in a "NOTICE OF APPARENT LIABILITY FOR FORFEITURE" filed by the FCC on November 9th of 2010. File No.: EB-08-TC-998

Part of that document reads:

   1. In this Notice of Apparent Liability for Forfeiture ("NAL"), we find
      that The Street Map Company ("Street Map") apparently willfully and
      repeatedly violated section 227 of the Communications Act of 1934, as
      amended ("Act"), and the Commission's related rules and orders, by
      delivering 11  unsolicited advertisements, or "junk faxes," to the
      telephone facsimile machines of 11 consumers. Based on the facts and
      circumstances surrounding these apparent violations, we find that
      Street Map is apparently liable for a forfeiture in the amount of
      $55,000.

It is obvious that this weasel has reorganized under another business name. Let's gang up on this [***] and stop him.

I know I'm getting carried away here, but the FCC report established that our Patrick Keane is the map  guy, just like my junk fax, which has made connecting the dots somewhat easier.

This reference was found on Page 4 of a newsletter by a group called Maptrade.org.

The plot thickens.

While Patrick Keane is currently regarded as the perpetrator of our related scams, I dug up an older FCC filing against a Joseph Ciampoli of First State Map & Globe Company, at 1800 Lovering Avenue
Wilmington, Delaware 19806.

Once again, the charge listed in the FCC suit is ". . to use a telephone facsimile machine, computer, or other device to send an unsolicited advertisement to a telephone facsimile machine."

My concern is with the italians. No offense to you honest folks, but a typical mob ruse is to reinvent your business under a new owner, name, location, etc.

This scammer has done all three.

Just wanted to add in that Patrick is well-known among map publishers as someone who doesn't pay his bills. The reinvention of company from First State to Rockford and other names was at least in part intended to fool publishers into selling to him on credit terms, and it has worked to some degree. Not sure how he is still getting any product to sell as by now everyone I know in the business has figured it out. It was also clever, because there is a totally legit publisher named Rockford Map in Illinois.

I am responding to the fact that somehow my name is being linked to this. I am a podiatrist in Wilmington DE. my practice is First State Foot & Ankle. The map store is first state map and globe and was in the same building complex. They have recieved my mail and have been confused with my office but we are not associated at all.

He is at it again! Now under the name Accurate Map Co 717 N Union St Wilmington DE 19805 using the phone numbers 855-888-8842 and 866-282-8543. Please be aware.

I got a fax from Accurate Map Co. and filed a FCC complaint.  Accurate Map Co. is using 855-888-8842 and 866-282-8543.  Prior to this, we've receive faxes from 301-263-7797 and 206-350-4346 for health insurance; 301-263-7797 and 206-337-6079 for credit issues; and, 201-549-0250 and 206-376-0289 for life insurance.  Please file your complaint, too!

He IS at it again.  This time calling the company Trump Map Co. 717N. Union St. Wilmington DE 19805
and using (855) 888-8842  which is not toll free and a removal number of  (866) 282-8543.

I have requested 25 times in the last year for these faxes to cease. The FCC and AT&T are no help because under federal law they must provide a header whowing their fax number and a call back number. The faxes come in anywhere between 2AM and 4AM disrupting my households sleep.

I have become totally impatient with the FCC, AT&T and Do not call registry do to the fact that their hands are tied, do not research this which is only making me angrier. If it does not get resolved soon besides taking legal recourse I may become violent and if I find the people that are disrupting my sleep pattern I may do something rash if I do my own research.

I'd Like to sue whoever it is, if I could get the real scoop as to who it really is.   There is a federal law allowing suits for junk faxes, but you have to have a defendant to make it work.  The junk fax I am looking at is from Trump Map Co.  717 N. Union St., Wilmington DE 19805.   I wander what is at that address and also if the zip code is correct for the address.  
The phone he has in the fax for orders is 866-844-1141 and for removal 866-282-8543.

This Patrick guy is still out there scamming away! He just deposited a check I had sent him for a map months ago. He hangs up on me every time I call asking for a refund (1-800-262-7123). Thank you for all of the info that everyone has posted!

i just ordered something from him, he sent the wrong item 2 weeks later, then acted like a douche when I called to inquire.  Then I sent him an email saying his customer service sucked but in a very nice way...he replied with "whatever"....what a dick...
