866-850-1039

received text that my visa has been restricted and to call 866-850-1039.  Computer voice asks for card number, pin, etc.  THIS IS A SCAM !  It is a company trying to steal credit cards !  Beware.

i received a text message from contactus@ncua.org that says:
A check order for your checking account was placed on 12/23/2012.  If you did not authorize this change, please contact us at 1.866.850.1039.  Clearly it is a scam.

Same here I received the sane text message at first I was worried. But figured that it was a scan

My husband just got a text 'A check order for your checking account was placed on 12/23/2012" If you did not authorize this change, please contact us at 1-866-850-1039."  This came from contactus@ncua.org.  AND we got two of them close together. Try replying and address doesn't exists. Definitely a scam.

My mother also got a text stating a check order for her checking account was placed and if she didn't authorize it to call the number. Same drill as above, asks for your card number, etc. When she didn't put any numbers in it just hung up. CLEARLY A SCAM! BEWARE!

Yes -- I had the same call to my cell.  Since my bank does not have my cell phone number, it was clearly a scam.

Woke me up at 3 am!!!

I got the same message about 9:15 PM, I figured it to be a SCAM, so no way will I call them B*st*ar*s, they can call themselves anything they want to. but they can just leave me alone, I know better, My Mama didn't raise no dummy.

I got the same text message about a check order being placed on 12/23. My first thought was scam so decided to look online for this scam and I see many others getting the same text. Obviously a scam.

Also got two texts with "A check order for your checking account was placed on 12/23/2012, If you did not authorize this change, please contact us at 1-866-850-1039."

Looks like this newest scam started today. And on Christmas Eve of all days! I guess they think just 'cause its the season to give, that they'll get personal info!
