Called about a federal student loan repayment plan change.  Do not have a student loan.

"Elizabeth Stevens" calling about my "Federal Student Loan" repayment using reference number 020244 and 866-850-1133 as the call back number.  Good thing I went to college when you could still afford to work your way through school and not need to take a loan.  This scam is pretty convincing.

She said she was calling about my student loan repayment. She sounded convincing, but my transactions are all online, so I knew it was a scam and would be phishing for my personal info (if I called back).

Scam caller that had me thinking for a minute as she was very convincing.  A

I had a voice mail from her.  I tried to call back and it wouldn't go through.  Called my FedLoan who I deal with for student loans.  They said they never give last names.  They use their first names and an ID#.  Would never give a reference #.
