    THEY HAVE CALLED UNDER THE PHONE # 855-799-4492 - I HAVE FILED A POLICE REPORT, FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE FEDERAL COSUMER PROTECTION AGENCY, AND MY ATTORNEY SENT A LETTER TO SOMEONE CALLING THEMSELVES AMERICAN ACCEPTANCE SOLUTIONS. THEY SAY THEY HAVE A VERY IMPORTANT LEGAL MATTER TO DISCUSS - IT IS AN AUTOMATED VOICE MESSAGE, SO IT MUST NOT BE THAT IMPORTANT. I HAVE CALLED THEM BACK AND TOLD THEM TO SERVE ME WITH PAPERS IF IN FACT I OWE ANYONE ANYTHING. MY ATTORNEY STATES THAT THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO SCAM MONEY AND UNTIL I GET PAPERS IN MY HAND NO ONE IS GETTING A DIME. I DO NOT OWE ANYONE ANYTHING.

    Sent a letter to where? These guys never give physical addresses.

    Just to clarify my post, they don't give physical addresses because they know they're breaking the law. They're not collecting a debt, they're just trying to con people out of money because they're too dumb to steal cars or rob liquor stores.

    I was just curious if your attorney sent a letter to the company they claimed to be from, or if they actually gave you a mailing address voluntarily.

    Do They Ever Stop
    I have gotten non-stop calls since yesterday 4/17. They call and call and no message. Today I ignored the call and it went to voicemail and it is some robo call saying they need a statement today. WHATEVER!!! They are trying to con people out of thier money. I totally agree with Fed Up, until I get papers in hand, they will not get a dime from me. They feel if they call enough we will give in and pay. It is getting ridiculous. I'm almost afraid I will get in trouble for the constant phone calls that are bogus. What can we do?

    I've been getting these for over two years from literally dozens of people/phone numbers. It's not real in any sense. They will never serve you with anything, they will never give you a physical address, and they will never be honest about who they are.

    All they want is to scare you into giving them bank account information, and since they're not actually debt collectors the calls will not stop even if you did buckle and pay them.

    I have an app on my phone that blocks this spam instantly (just hangs up on them), and the people here at work know it's a scam and don't generally tell me about the calls anymore.

    If you do get a live one, challenge them to see who can call your local sheriff's office first and hang up.

    Awesome man, glad to know you figured out the 855-799-4492 # is the same as this one. I was getting calls as well from the old number and now they are using this one. The guy I talked to from the 855 # try to scare me into paying, I told him to stop calling and said "so you dont like that I'm giving you a chance to settle this out of court" and I told him I would if this was a real case, he seemed to get upset and just stuck to his story even after I told him you know you are trying rip people off and I know that YOU know that. finally he just hung up and said we'll see you in court haha. only thing that bothered me is he did have my full social but i told him it was wrong to try and throw him off.  One thing I found out from an attorney I work with is if you were going to be served papers, you would not get notified they would just show up and also if this was a true debt, once a collection company cannot collect it usually goes to garnishing wages or if it does go to court and papers are ready to be served its a done deal there is no longer a chance to settle out of court so use that against them and they will change the subject haha

    Calling claiming they are ACF offices. Says I took out a loan for $500 from PAC Management in Oct 2011. Another number did the same thing. That number is 855-879-4106. They claim I took a loan out in Oct 2011 for $500 but interest cost me $5000 but they will settle for $1390.86. I call the BBB today on the other number called the real ACF offices (federal law office in Washington DC) to let them know. I called the federal fraud place too to report them.

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    Got a recording saying to press 0 after it said it was an imprtant legal matter so I did to humor myself. The gentleman said that he was from ACS claiming I took out a loan from National Group LLC. The date he gave me was from in 2008, the address he had for me I had not lived at for 3 years prior to 2008 and the bank account he gave me I had not had in at least 2 years prior to 2008. I told him I needed proof of the debt so he sent me a validitaion of debt email, on ACS letterhead. That doesnt validate anything I want hard core proof! When I told him that he said "well if you dont want to take care of it then dont, it's going on your credit" hahahah What a fraud!!

    Tired of these scams
    The first time I received this type of call, I freaked and paid them. Though the charges didn't sound legit, I didn't want trouble with the law so I just paid the $300 they asked for. A month later, I received another call from a different 800 number, asking for $2000. This time, I looked up the company on google and saw these forums with people reporting scams. I am so glad people are sharing their experiences. Now I jus ignore them. If it was a real case, they wouldn't be calling you, they would just serve you in person.

    I can sympathize with everyone on here!  They have been calling me for the past few months, also under different toll free numbers (now they are using 866-850-3712) claiming I owe them money that was allegedly deposited into an account  (that has been closed since 2004) in 2010...I was unemployed for more than half the year so I know this is a bogus claim.  I spoke to someone there the other day that gave me the same BS that they have given to all of you who posted here...and I'm still getting the robo calls!  The information here has been helpful so I thank everyone for their posts.  I called them and threatened to report them to the BBB, FTC, and my state's attorney general's office. Its amazing how people can get away with doing things like this.  This company also goes by ACS.  I hope we can all (collectively) stop this scammer!!

    I have not answered the calls from this number. This is not my first rodeo.  It seems the same old debts "even if they have been paid" recirculate.  These "debt" companies do not have enough information to validate a debt, but plenty of your private information. I have repeatedly over the years reported it to all the "official" agencies but they just change phone numbers and continue on.  At this point, I am not even going to get upset and fight with the individuals. They don't want to provide you with the proof so you can dispute the information. I wish someone would just serve me and get it over with!!

    This company ACS is a fraud!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they represented themselves today as "Dept of Treasury".  Told them to take my number off their list, they refused, I advised them I already have an attorney and would be contacting our local sheriff department, however, they kept refusing, until finally I hung up.  They have all my daughters personal information, family names, phone numbers, addresses, ss#.....etc.....they even called back and changed their number to the local court house phone number, making you think you were receiving a call from the court house, and that the summons was filed and would be served @ 11 am tomorrow.  Contacted local courthouse they have no record of any filings.....Beware they can change their number to show up anyone's number!!!!!!!!!! This is truly a harassing company and a HUGE SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Advised them to serve the papers, but for some reason they never do!!!!!! extremely rude.......and told my daughter to "SHUT UP"............THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE WITH THESE SCAM ARTIST, WE HAVE ALREADY FILED COMPLAINTS WITH THE APPROPRIATE COMPANIES, THEY STOPPED FOR A FEW MONTHS, AND NOW THEY HAVE STARTED AGAIN, THE COURT HOUSE ADVISED TO CONTACT YOUR LOCAL SHERIFF DEPARTMENT!!!!!! AND REPORT THEM

    This company first started calling me about 6 months ago, but with a different phone number. I told them 6  months ago I do not owe the debt they are claiming I owe. They said I do because they have my social security number, date of birth, etc. I told them just because they have some of my personal info did not mean I owe this debt. They threatened me with sending a sheriff to my place of work or home to serve me papers. I told them to send them on. Then they called my boss and told my boss I owed this debt and they were going to serve me papers at work. My boss was very upset. I told her it was a scam. And I was furious they called my boss. I called them back, but never could get through, voicemail box was always full and no human answered the phone, only a recording. In the mean time I reported them to the FCC and FTC and the Texas Attorney General's office and the BBB. The phone calls stopped, but they have started again just a few days ago, but with a different number now, claiming the same thing. Again I have tried calling that number to tell them to stop calling me, but a recorder always comes on and the voicemail box is always full.  Yes, it is a scam because if you ask for proof of this loan, by mailing whatever paperwork I signed for this loan, they cannot do this. My  lawyer said they have to do this if I request it. They have to show proof. They have threatend me in the past with sending a sheriff to arrest me. You cannot be arrested for a debt. It is extremely illegal for them to make threats or to even call your job and let someone know about your personal business. As soon as I can get an address of this company, which I have not been able to do so far, I plan on suing their pants off.

    They do illegal things in hopes of eventually getting caught and living in a small prison cell with another man. It is all subconscious stuff.
    They like other men and cannot think of any other way to spend quality time with them.
    I think physiologists have explained this on the Jerry Springer show or maybe it was on Ellen.
