I returned the call and they claim to be Academy Services.  The service rep. refused to tell me what exactly they do without having me provide my telephone number.  With this being the case it's a scam and they only want you to provide your telephone number so they can remove it from one data base only to be transferred or sold to other telemarkers.

the answering machine picks up call during working hours of course an auto voice states if you stay on the line you are acknowledging you are this person and babbles on with the number to return their call.  The auto voice is distorted/garbled by background noise of some sort.  Do not have a clue whom the person is they are calling; have an unlisted, on the do no call registry phone number. the number they called from is 856-668-4521, stes they are academy services trying to collect a debt.

i keep getting a message on my machine to hang up if i am not this person (mumbles the name) or i am acknowledging i am this person. i have hung up when i have been home but it doesn't do any good. it says they are academy collections trying to collect a debt and to call 1-866-860-2708 and refer to number 17605955. i am really tired of getting this type of call about people i don't know that keep calling even after being told they are calling the wrong number.  i called my phone carrier but they couldn't help me.

i also keep getting the message on my phone and have hung up when i have been home to answer the call. what puzzles me is this.  the call was originally on my cell phone. it may be for the person that had the number before me. after i hung up on it several times i started getting the call on my home phone. the only way that could happen is if they google the cell number and use the reverse directory. the name listed is not the name they are supposedly calling so why are they doing it. i am cancelling my cell phone as soon as i can and i have complained to them about it. i would like to get the calls stopped but don't know who to report it to.

Number on Caller ID was 866-860-2708 The guy called himself Ronald Gates, asked for an employee at my office and when I asked who he was with he said Citi Bank, so I said if this is personal business you don't need to call a business number and hung up.  He called back from 215-320-0424 and said yeah....you just hung up on me and all you have to do is take a message.....I can report you and you and your company can get sued because you hung up on me. yadda yadda yadda........what a fricken jerk !!!!!

The number keeps calling my phone over and over everyday with no message.  People have caller ID and don't usually return calls these days to unknown numbers - it interupts everytime and I'm sick of seeing it on the caller ID -

I changed my cell number when I changed from prepaid and ended up with the number of a bill jumper. Now I have all their creditors calling me. It doesn't matter that I tell them I'm not the person they want, they just keep calling!!! All hours... How do I make them stop!! I am not who you are looking for! I have even told Toyota credit to come get her car, canceled her doctors appts because she flat has not changed her number anywhere at all.

This number has called 4 times in the last 45 minutes. I am at work and do not answer my phone, but do check periodically.  I'm showing 4 missed calls from 09:52-10:34 AM--absolutely absurd. Based on web searches and Sick n tired's comment, number may be Citibank. All of my bills are paid, so it can't be to collect a debt from me. Either they have the wrong number or are auto-dialing. They don't leave voicemail. I don't recommend answering their calls--they're a little bit extreme and may not be pleasant to speak with. I have set the number to go automatically to voicemail. If they have anything important to say, they can surely leave a message.

Keeps calling my new cell number and never leaves a message.  Don't know who they are and they won't tell me when I do answer.  It is always a different company name.  I keep telling them they are calling the wrong number, but they won't stop.  So next step is the better business bureau.  

DONT KNOW WHO THEY ARE, BUT STOP CALLING MY PHONE . I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST AND I REPORT YOU EVERYTIME YOU CALL    

I've gotten calls from them too. Just tell them you're going to sick your attorney on them if they don't stop phoning you. That's what I've had to start doing.

Just change your cell phone number.

I just got another call from them. This time, I picked up on the 3rd ring. I said, "Hello?" I got *Click.* Obviously, they want to know your phone number is a working number so they can keep calling.

I think these are auto-dialed calls. Just another way to scam older folks who will often send money. My advise, look into blocking the numbers. I added this number to my 'contacts' with a 'silent ring tone'. Now they can ring their ass off, I'll never know it!

This number repeatedly calls me early mornings and no one is on the other end. I work nights and people who know me never call during the morning. I have children who may need me so I can't turn my phone off. Really annoyed!

866-860-2708 WAS PUT ON MY CELLPHONE BLOCK LIST AFTER THE VERY FIRST CALL ON DECEMBER 2ND.

THE CALLER STATED ON THE FIRST CALL THAT WENT TO VM, "THIS IS ACADEMY COLLECTION SERVICES, AND WE ARE ATTEMPTING TO COLLECT A DEBT ON BEHALF OF CITIBANK ETC, ETC, ETC." CITIBANK????? WHOA!

I HAVE ONE MAJOR CREDIT CARD...AMERICAN EXPRESS, AND MY WIFE HAS ONE MAJOR CREDIT CARD FROM WELLS FARGO.  CURRENT BALANCE AS OF DECEMBER 1ST, 2013 IS "$0.00."

NEITHER MYSELF OR MY WIFE HAVE EVER HAD A PERSONAL LOAN, BUSINESS LOAN, CAR LOAN, EQUITYLINE LOAN OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF LOAN FROM CITIBANK. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER IN OUR ENTIRE 51 YEARS OF MARRIAGE.

I'M 74 AND RETIRED SINCE 2006, AND SO IS MY WIFE.

WE HAVE NO DEBT. NO MORTGAGE, NO CAR NOTE(S), NO CREDIT CARD DEBT, NO NOTHING EXCEPT FOR OUR MONTHLY UTILITY BILLS, AND THAT'S ALL.

THE CELLPHONE NUMBER THAT ACADEMY COLLECTION SERVICE IS CALLING IS MY CAR CELLPHONE NUMBER, WHICH IS ONLY TURNED ON WHEN I'M IN THE CAR, OTHERWISE, THE CELLPHONE IS OFF.

NOT ONE TIME SINCE DECEMBER 2ND HAVE I RECEIVED ANY DEMAND NOTICES FOR PAYMENT IN THE MAIL TO MY RESIDENCE OR TO MY PO BOX#.

THE BURDEN OF PROOF IS ON ACADEMY COLLECTION SERVICE TO PROVE THAT I OWE ANY DEBT NOT ONLY TO CITIBANK BUT TO ANY OTHER FINANCIAL INSTITUTION OR CREDITOR.

IF/AND OR WHEN I'M EVER SERVED WITH A SUMMONS AND COMPLAINT FROM ACADEMY COLLECTION SERVICE, I'LL KNOW WHO TO CONTACT.
