Recieved and EMAIL from orderveri@sprint.com asking me to confirm my order by calling 866-860-6301.  This feels like a scam because I havent made any orders with SRINT or NEXTEL that should require my contact.

SCAM ALERT.

Received a call from this number and thought it was a scam as well. Howver, after calling Sprint / Nextel fraud at 888-788-0788 I learned that numerous orders were placed on my account by someone else and that the call to me was not a scam. Beware - someone might have ordered on your account.

I also received a call on my cell phone from 305-644-5520.  The person left an 866 number to call back which was 866-860-6301.  I had recently ordered 3 new phones with Sprint and the number is for the order verification department to make sure that it was me that had placed the order.  (which it was)

I also received this call from the 305-644-5520 with the 866-860-6301 call back number.  I called the Sprint 800 number on my order verification and it was, indeed, a call to verify the order I had placed.  I told Sprint that maybe they should inform their customers that they may be received a call back to verify that they've placed an order.

I also recieved a call that I had missed from 604-580-4637. The person who left the voice message was talking so fast with a bizarre accent that I couldn't understand what the toll free number was supposed to be. I had to type 1-866 and Sprint into Google and eventually I got to this site. The 1-866-860-6301 # that you guys have listed here sounded close to what the guy said on the message, so I called to verify the order that made earlier today. I just want to say thanks for the help.

I also recieved a call that I missed from an unavailable number asking to call back to confirm purchases at 866-860-6301 which I did not make.  The lady was hard to understand and asked for my password, account number, billing address.  This did not seems right.  I said I would call sprint with my password.  They gave me a number to call and it was a sex line.   Then I called the offical Sprint number and nothing unusual was on my account and no new purchases.  This seems like a scam for information to then go and buy things off your account.

I called Sprint and they told me they were investigating these incidences and said that that call was not from Sprint.

This number was emailed on a Sprint verification of order email 866-860-6301. The customer insisted that a driver's license and social security card must be faxed in - Do not do this -

I work for the order verification department with Sprint and that indeed is the order verification phone number. Something that will hold up your order in order verification is being a new customer and having a super expensive phone. That's just one example, but there are a few things. we have to make sure it's you. It's to protect your identity...that's all. If we didn't contact you, and you didn't place an order, than someone out there could be using your identity for service. This isn't a scam at all...if you don't feel comfortable calling that number, get the customer care number from the website and have a care representative transfer you to order support who will connect you with a OV specialist.

After an hour on the phone with sprint, I found the number 1-866-860-6301 is a real sprint number and everything is fine with my account.

If anyone is worried, call sprint customer support and have then call the number and ask the person to identify themselves, they have too many numbers to tell if it is a real sprint number any other way, at least the person I talked to couldn't find out anything until I suggested she call it and ask them to identify themselves.

I was not scammed! :) all it good with the world again! :)

Received a call to verify my new sprint account. I never ordered anything from Sprint and I have never had a Sprint account called local police they said watch my credit report so far ok.
From 719-5466354 person told me to have police call 703-433-8860

If you got a call there is a possbility that u are a victim of identity theft
I work in that dept. Someone has place the order w/out your athorization..

judy , sprint canceled my order due to they could not verify my account...

i mean i dont understand ... wat do they look at to determine if u are the person u say u are or how do they verify ur order...thanks

Repeatedly receive calls from caller ID: "GCS 719 546-6354" - They never leave a message.

Received several calls from  719 546-6354, whenever I picked up the phone it was hung up.

I recieved a call as well, from 866-860-6301, sounded like a scam so i called sprint, who transfered me to order verification. i asked if the number 866-860-6301 was, in fact, a sprint number and belonged to the order verification department, and they confirmed it. so its not a scam. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS CALL THE NUMBER THAT YOU KNOW FOR SURE IS THE LEGITIMATE BUISINESS OR COMPANY, AND TRANSFER YOUR WAY THERE. NEVER BE CONTENT WITH CALLING A NUMBER BACK THAT YOU WERE GIVEN OVER THE PHONE. USE THE WEBSITES THE NUMBERS ARE LISTED THERE.

i got several calls from that number '719 546 6354 GCS' what the [***] people's problem!!!! i never get it!!!!!!!

Not a Scam - Like the previous poster, I called Sprint back via their main customer service line and they confirmed that they had placed an "order verification" call to me.  I had ordered new service, but no new devices - they still call this a new "order".  

So, it's not a scam, but just call the main Sprint Cust. Service number and they can direct you to the order verification department - that way you always know you're talking to the real guys.

Not a scam.  Order was placed and when I followed up on it, that is the number the sprint.com/myaccount asked me to call.

I don't believe it isn't a scam.  How could an account be created in my name and a phone message come to my home phone when I did not order anything (I have a contract with Verizon).  They got my name, address and home phone number and I never ordered anything.  I imagine it is an attempt to get personal information or credit card numbers.  I called the regular Sprint number and had everything in my name deleted and marked as fraud.  I'll put a notice on my credit reports.
