I believe this number is being used to "phish" for credit card numbers from HughesNet customers. I called HughesNet and they claimed to have no such number. This was sent via internet mssg

I've been using my mom's internet and keep getting a message from hughesnet to update my credit card information or make a payment.

Also got a message from this number to update info and the person on the other end of the conversation did not seem to know any of the info about account but really wanted to get the credit card number.  Did not give the info and found my original contract and called the number on it which is different than this one and resolved problem.  Did not ask about other  number but found it strange that the message just appeared on screen  before I even was checking my email.  Did not get message on e-mail address, it just flashed on screen when I was going to Yahoo.

Got this message on my computer that my hughesnet bill must be paid. I NEVER HAD a hughesnet account. When I called the reference number they just wanted to collect my information. That's bad enough....but after making 4 phone calls to hughesnet and talking to 4 different SALES people (because apparently they only employ sales people) they still couldn't find anyone who wanted to hear about this. First I was angry with the people who sent me the message...Now I'm now angry with hughesnet. Don't they have an ethical responsibility to investigate sometime using their name?

I keep getting pop up messages from what claims to be HughesNet claiming they cannot bill me with my current credit card # and to contact them @ 866-874-2369.  Just for the curosity called the #, which was answered by young woman who claimed to be HughesNet payment department.  When I told her I was receiving pop up messages, she just said "hmmmnn" a couple of times.  She then proceeded to want to ask me some personal questions.  I told her I was uncomfortable giving out my personal information over the phone, and I thus hung up.  This smells to high-heaven as a "phishing scam!  She also "hmmmned" when I told her I had gotten an e-mail earlier letting me from HughesNet that my bill had been generated through my bank.  Beware, this is a SCAM!!

They fooled me got my money!!

This is a fraudulent number trying to stell cc info, don't not give it out. Hughes net said that isn't one of there numbers

I have had about eight of these pop up websites on my computer this morning.  I have NO e-mail or any other notification from HughesNet that there is anything wrong with my account & my payment info has NOT changed so I am convinced this is a phishing scam.  BEWARE!

After 8 pop-up's you need to seriously look at your antivirus software, and ad blocking software. If you're using Windows 10, with their web browsers, try something else.

Not only are there calls and popups with this number, there is a site listed as"myhughesnet customercare that's been there for awhile. It has the same phone number. Sounds like it may be a scam from the inside of HughesNet, but the company just doesn't care! Speaking with HughesNet doesn't help without getting the right person. Even then they're not going to do anything about the scamming, but will check and let you know about your account No one else will give out their name or they give you a common "WASPy" name when it's obvious by their accent they are not a "WASP" and are at a call center. No different from the outside scammers. If you get one of these folks keep calling (different times) until you get someone more important and not at a call center.

Did did the message say that they have been attempting to reach you concerning a pass due Bill?? press the button at the bottom to pay your bill or call this number to work out payment arrangements and we'll be happy to work with you?

866-874-2369 is a lie. He said he was located in Texas. I looked up the actual number for this HughesNet company and called them. I asked them if the number was associated with them. She had no knowledge. DONT even give them your name.

The popup on your browser is a LIE!

Im on hold with Hughesnet right now. I looked number up and saw these messages so decided to call them. I told rep that the general consensus is that Hughes net does not want to help with stopping this scam, so I'm going to get ahold of all the tv stations and let them know about this scam.
Here is what I found out:
Yes, I DID have a problem with the cc on file, it had expired. But the SCAREY part is that somehow the scammers have inserted their phone number in place of Hughesnet. When I brought this to the reps attention, he hung up on me.

I keep receiving messages  from Hughes Internet to call and update my CC info. I don't have Hughes, never have and never will!

They keep Blocking me
