- DebMy 93 year old Mom got a call today from the robotic voice person and it upset her. I was glad to see all your comments here, as I was leaning towards it being a scam. I think I will call Aetna at their regular number however, and tell them that if it IS them wanting a survey, to send it through the mail... elderly people get upset at all the weird phone calls they receive... a lot of them are scams.

- CherH replies to MariaI was suspicious, so I sent an inquiry about it to my Aetna website. It is legit. Here is the response I got:
We have partnered with Silverlink to complete our Health Risk Assessment (HRA) surveys.
A Health Risk Assessment (HRA) is a member survey to make sure we have the most up-to-date information about our members. In the past, CMS required us to reach out to newly enrolled Medicare Advantage (MA) members to complete a HRA. CMS now requires re-enrolled MA members to complete an annual HRA.
The caller ID for Aetna members will display as 866-887-9741 or 866-887-9743
If you have additional questions, send us a 'Contact Us' message or call the toll-free number on your member ID card, if applicable.
Health benefits are offered, underwritten or administered by Aetna Health Inc., Aetna Health of California, Aetna Health of Illinois, and/or Aetna Life Insurance Company.

Internet Response Team
Aetna - NJReceived call from 866-887-9741. Did not answer the call. 2 separate messages were left with the one phone call. First message was for me and the robot stated my name. "This is Aetna Medicare calling (name) with important information. Please call us toll free at 1-866-887-9741 and enter the seven digit pin 41...63 so we know its you. (numbers then repeated) If we don't hear from you soon we'll try again. Thank you. Goodbye." The second message was identical except stated my husband's name and gave a seven digit pin with only the 1st and last digits different.

- CoachI have received at least 2 of these calls / messages recently on my voicemail. I want to thank all of you who have shared your experiences. Why does Aetna not recognize that this '3rd party survey' calling is intrusive and disturbing to so many of their customers? I, for one, will find a new insurer for 2019

- Don - TulsaAfter getting an automated call from 866-887-9741, I called Aetna Member Services to see if the call was legitimate. It is LEGITIMATE and it involves a program called SilverLinks run by HRA Survey that evidently conducts monthly phone surveys to check on the health of Aetna Medicare Advantage members. They can also arrange a home visit by an R.N.,which is relevant to people who don't have transportation or easy access to healthcare. The Aetna Member Services agent helped me opt out of the program so I won't (hopefully) get future calls from this program.

- CRSuspicion 1-I do not trust any number beginning 866, 2nd-contacted me at 8:15 a., 3rd-If it is that important, they will send a letter after no contact 4th-I call the number on back of a card when someone claims to be from whatever and make the call to verify. 5th-I check the number to see what the complaints are on blogs. My constant guideline: only my doctors, friends and family calls will I answer, because I gave them the number. I do realize the banks share numbers with other commercial business and phone lists are sold. Keeping that in mind I try to be pro-active about my privacy.

- AkronDave replies to LPI just came home to a message to call "Aetna Medicare" #866-887-9741 with a PIN # (which was never asked for when their machine answered. It started asking for Yes/No answers to a bunch of health questions. I kept trying to ask for a real agent- no luck. After about five of them, I hung up.
I then called Aetna right away... their rep told me that sometimes they call to ask if you'd like an in-home visit for a health assessment, much like a check-up with your doctor. HOWEVER, any such call comes from a real person, not a robo-call. This call was a scam. I hope that I haven't opened a can of worms by simply calling back. Don't call the number in the message. If you feel compelled to find out, call the customer service number on your Aetna card. - Aetna subscriberJust got 2 calls from them this week. When I tried to check voicemail, instead it connected me with this number(?) First question was is this "my name". When I said "yes", the next question wanted me to rate my health on a scale. I doubt this is legitimate. Even if it is, I am not answering personal health questions to an unknown caller. I checked the aetna website and I have no messages there. I think this is a scam and will ignore future calls.

- BudsgirlSaturday Jan 19, 2019 - I just received a phone call and voice message from "AETNA Medicare" today at 8:09 a.m. The recorded voice indicated the call was about "important information [and] please call 866-887-9741 and then enter a seven digit pin number. If we do not hear from you soon we'll try again. Thank you and goodbye" This call did not sound legitimate at all. I checked all of my Aetna Medicare coverage information and find that their office hours are Monday through Friday so do not believe that a call received on Saturday is from them.

Your inquiry
We understand how this can be concerning. This telephone number, 866-887-9741, is from Silverlink, for a Health Risk Assessment (HRA) survey. We use the vendor Silverlink to complete the Health Risk Assessment (HRA) survey. Please be advised of the following:
* Silverlink makes up to 2 calls per household. Each attempt they make happens at different times of the day and on different days of the week. They leave voice mail messages for the member after the first and last attempt.
* If Silverlink is unable to reach you, we mail letters to them explaining that Silverlink, on our behalf, tried to reach you by phone to complete a survey and will ask you to return the call.
* The letter includes a toll free number and a PIN members can use to call back and complete the survey.
If you would like to opt-out of the survey, please let us know and you will be removed from the survey in 24 to 48 hours.- Call type: Survey
- PineIslandJust like all the other comments listed, I received the same type of call. My caller ID says Aetna but since numbers and names can be spoofed I never answer my phone. The robotic voice did leave a pin number asking to return the call and use the "pin nbr". I have received this type of call before and like mentioned above I contacted Aetna at a customer service number. They tracked down the caller and at my request asked them to NOT call me again. From the "alleged" message from Aetna above stating that they use "Silverlink" to complete a HRA and if you don't want them calling to simply contact Aetna and they will have you removed from the survey. Uhhhhh, I did that already a year ago.....and yet, they are calling again. The ONLY thing a survey does is obtain information to sell to other scammers who then use that information to contact you and attempt to continue with a scam.
