Rc'd a text message stating they were from Allegius Credit Union and had deactivated my DebitCard (I don't have one) but have a regular account with Alleguis.  Alleguis is putting out a warning that this is a scam and that Alleguis will neither ask you for your account number in any correspondence.  Yesterday my son, who does have a DebitCard from Alleguis rec'd a similar text message asking to call another number (888-414-5937).  That was also a fraud attempt.

DO NOT RETURN CALLS OR EMAILs.  If you have any questions call Alleguis at their business office.

I don't have an account with Allegius Credit Union.  I received 3 warnings and now they say they have deactivated my debit card.  I called my bank because that is the only debit card I have and they said they would NEVER text concerning banking problems nor would any other bank. I'm getting annoyed at my cell phone constantly going off because of them.

I have received the same thing to my account?

i received 3 text messages, 3 different numbers to call and from different prefixes at allegius.org. I used to have an account with allegius  but has been closed over a year.

Police warn of scam

PORTAGE | Portage police are warning people about a scam involving Allegius Credit Union.

Sgt. Keith Hughes said his department has received several reports from people saying they have received text messages from Allegius Credit Union saying their account has been compromised and asking them to call a toll-free number to report personal information.

Hughes said the texts are scams and people should not call the phone number sent to them.

My wife and I each got 3 text messages from this 866-899-0941 number on our Indiana cell phones while we were traveling yesterday.  We don’t have an account with Allegius and figured it was just a scam. But it was kind of annoying to be receiving these in the airport where you are depending on your credit cards!

These calls are coming from several different numbers 866-899-0941, 888-43
76581,888-434-4925,866-537-1789,866-652-8884

Have gotten three of these texts in the last week saying there was "Unusal Activity" and that my "Debit Card was deactivated."  Really obnoxious, I don't even have an Allegius account.  Caller ID shows up as a random number, usually 1010100012

Just got a text message from wbueqv@mefcudirect.com

Subject: Allegius C.U.
Your Allegius Debit-Card has been SUSPENDED
Call 8886716660 to reactivate

I've never had any sort of account with them, so naturally I did not respond.

yes i got the same scam message as well, beware.
