keep asking for some victoria though told reportedly that this is no longer her number

Names given. Polite, responsive and sympathetic.  Stupidly, I didn't ask
for organization name.  Was told that number was supplied by local phone
company service. I've a listed landline for 5 years. No reason for local
phone company to give erroneous (my) number.  This sort of call has happened often with different names and different collection organizations
The source of misinformation seems to be the local phone company.

My caller id says Hello Direct

I get a call from someone using this number about 3-5 times per week. The automated message keeps asking for someone named "William Bill" or maybe "William Bell"....and there's no one even remotely close to that name at our phone number. Returning a call to them is useless, I can never get a live person.

Calls several times a day on my cell. No one is there when I answer. When I send the call to the message service a recording of a woman with a Brittish accent asks for someone I have never heard of and instructs to hang up if you are not that person.  I have had the same # for 11 years.

This number calls several times a day.  Always an automated recording  

"press 1 if you are Elizabeth Tollbert, Press 2 if you are not..."   Then goes on to ask if I need more time to get this person to the phone (press one or two again).  Then instructs me to have her call them.  No option to speak to a live person is given.  Also no option to notify them that they have called a wrong number.

I've called the number back and did manage to reach a live person who then hung up on me.  Called again and found a more cooperative person who promises the calls will cease.  

For some reason, I don't really believe him.

I keep getting calls from this number on my cell phone and they are leaving a voice  mail saing this is a call for Stephanie Kramer if you are not Stephanie Kramer please hang up.  I have had this same phone number for 5 years!!  The two times I have actually answered when they have called I tell them that they have reached the wrong number and they tell me that they have called the right number!

This number is for a debt collector.  They leave a message "If you are not _________, hang up and do not listen to this message."

I received a call from this company (debt collectors) for some girl named Amy Lewis.  I returned the phone call and the woman on the other end said she would remove my number.  The last company that said they would remove my number (and did not) was turned over to the Ohio Attorney General's office.  They have not called me since.

How do you get them to stop calling if they have the wrong number? They keep calling & I keep telling them that the person they looking for no longer has the number dialed.

I've received cell phone voice messages from this number for Antonia Foster.  Similar to the calls posted above.  I decided to call the collection agency (no name) to let them know that my number is the wrong number.  When I told the woman she had the wrong number, she just said "um hum" in a sarcastic way like she did not belive me.  She did not ask  me any questions or make any other comments.

After reading the other posts, I think the collection company agent may be getting paid or some other gain for how many calls they make or phone calls returned; or why continue to call the wrong number?

its vengroff, williams and associates; a debt collection agency.  These maggots will call all the time and don't really care if you are the person they are looking for or not.  I usually just cuss them out and call them back to cuss them out again.  Sometimes I tell them I am masturbating so they will have to wait a couple minutes and they just hang up.  But seriously, if they call and don't identify themselves BEFORE you have to ask; or if you don't owe them or who they are collecting for, you should contact via internet the federal trade commission and file a complaint online.  the website for this collection agency is www.vwainc.com  They have businesses in florida, new york and cali in the states. everyone who gets a call from them should read the federal law regarding collection agency practices and if they have violated them file a complaint.  failure of them to identify themselves is grounds for a complaint.  calling about another person is grounds for a complaint.  repeated calls after telling them to stop is grounds for a complaint.  file a complaint if you want something done and want them to stop harassing you or the next person they prey on.

My foster son who is 10, continues to get calls on this phone.  When I try to speak to them, I hear excuses like "I cannot hear you maam or I just get hung up on.  I would like for these calls to stop immediately.  He receives up to 40 calls in 3-5 days.

Continued calls for another company, no live agents, personal voicemail setup on return calls to remove number from their dialers.

Left garbled message so I returned call. Asked for name and address. I refused address so he said he was calling on behalf of HomeDepot. I owe no money. Told me if I refused to give address they could not help me. I said ok and was told that they would send a letter and I could call them when I received it.
