- GailThey told me they were from the Iowa debit activation program, and wanted to activate a debit card. I called my bank and reported this.
- privateI got this call. It sounds legit, look up the number and there is an Iowa Debit card website that says to call this number if there is issues with the card, but there is also a link to go to iaworkforce.org.
Called it and they asked for my social security, then my full birth date. I didn't finish it, but I think it is a very well thought out scam. I can see why it would be easy to fall into this trap. I am going to call work force and ask them what they say though.
It is right on the heels of another scam call I got saying that I was going to be turned in for tax fraud. That one was proven to be a scam, never called it.
Be aware. There is too many scams out there.- Caller: Iowa Debit Program

- privateI just got through...used a fake ssn, date of birth and pin....it was not recognized using all 000 of course, I got customer service. The lady didn't ask for any information but said that it was probably the fact that I had a card before with my name. I did at one time. It makes sense, maybe they are just trying to do a system update. In the meantime do not give them legit information and bypass all of it. Do not give the pin and stuff. I am still going to get a hold of work force and/or my bank and let them know this is happening.
