Voice mail had nessage to call 866-241-1307 sounds like they are saying Suntrust Mortgage , you have a change in the status....
Interestingly caller ID says Centrust- google that and it variously comes up as Centrust Capital (telemarketer), or as debt collector!

If you have a Suntrust Account, or Mtg you know to use the number on your statement to call them back (if the message is legit), right?!?

4/24, 4 pm: Received message to call SunTrust at 866-241-1307 before 8 pm for an urgent update to my mortgage, with six-digit message number. I went to my online SunTrust account and saw no message or any other notice on the secure website. Waited 24 hours and called the number. Message number "could not be found," but auto message directs to call 866-907-5644. Called that number, and an unidentified woman says "SunTrust, what is your mortgage number." I agree this may be a scam -- none of this seems like SunTrust protocol (no ID is very suspicious, there's no lead-in conversation or verification, and I've never had code-number messages from them in 14 years). I told her it was a wrong number and the woman says "okay." I hung up -- no "thanks for calling SunTrust" or any other sign-off.

We actually recd a message exactly like you stated we were to call back and put in a pin number which we did.  However, it was stating we were late in our mortgage payment which we knew we made.  So it is a legit # if you have a Suntrust Mortgage.

Daily calls even though they are advised the party they seek is not at this location. I am on all DNC lists and will now report this company to the Attorney General. Caller ID reads: 866-907-5644.

This is some kind of scam. I hung up and called Suntrust and they said that they would never call and ask for ANY info. If there was a change in your account Suntrust will send you a letter or call and ask you to come in.

I got a call today 9/5/08 from my cell phone.  I did not answer.  But I did call them back and I was put on hold.  Then a gentleman (or not so gentle) answered and was like "can I have your loan #".... "no, I do not feel comfortable giving out my information over the phone, goodbye!" CLICK!

If you have any account with Suntrust mortgage, they call call all they want, even if you are on the Do not call list.

The DNC only applied to non-relationship telemarketing. If you have done business with a compnay (& this includes all aflliates & subsidiary's of that company)they can legally call.

so lets see, you claim its legit without knowing anything about who they are calling or why ... or maybe you work for them, and you DO know, and you want to spew these lies on your own behalf so you can increase your scamming.

BUSTED, now go the eff away.

This number doesn't always have a Caller ID. SunTrust Mortgages are due the 1st of every month & if they don't receive your payment by that date, (even though you have until the 17th of every month to pay it--a grace period), their automated system sends out these "courtesy calls". Over the years, I have told SunTrust that if they are calling 2-5 times a day, that is NOT a courtesy call. That is harassment. There is no way to stop them. I've tried. In the past, I simply blocked the number but occasionally called them to let them know payment is coming & remind them that I have until the 15th. It used to be the 15th, now it's the 17th (check your statement for your exact date of your grace period).

If you remove your phone number from your account, you will receive an ominous letter but it's basically asking you for your phone number (doesn't say that though - it makes it sound like there's something wrong w/your mortgage when there isn't).

I've only been formally late (after the grace period) ONCE in 16 yrs of a 30-yr mortgage, so these calls are not about that. SunTrust simply wants to make sure they're going to get paid.

Best thing to do is to call the number on your mortgage statement on the 1st of every month (if you need til the 17th to pay it) tell them you plan to pay it on the 17th. They will make a note in your account & the phone calls will stop for that month. Then, you can pay it anytime between the 1st-17th and not be harassed. I'm afraid that's the only thing you can do. I still complain & tell them they have to fix their system so it really IS a courtesy call, once maybe twice during that 2-week grace period would be fine but calling several times a day, every day is harassment.

If, however, you don't have a SunTrust Mortgage, then call a bank's branch rather than that number, tell them what's going on & see if they can help you stop getting those calls for someone else. You may just have to keep asking for a manager or the Head of the SunTrust's Mortgage dept in order to get this fixed.

Trust me, SunTrust has made SO many errors, esp. during these last 2-1/2 yrs since my husband passed away, you just have to push for higher & higher management in order to get anyone to fix their incompetencies, mistakes. Even try tweeting them & talk via DM & let them know you won't stop until the issue is fixed & you speak directly to the person who is fixing it. If they can't give you that person's name & direct number (they won't), then tell them you expect a phone call from that person for confirmation the issue is fixed. (I had to do this, FINALLY got the Head of the dept to call me & reamed him out but he fixed their error(s) & I now have his name & phone number & dept. so if anything else comes up, I now have someone to call.) I hope this helps!
