Received a call this morning.  They said they were calling from Value Benefits, I immediatelty said I was not interested and he replied that he was not a telemarketer, but was calling because I had been chosen to receive a $125 gas card and $25 dining card.  He verified my mailing address and name (which he already had) and gave me this telephone #.  Said his name was Peter, floor manager and his rep# was 95025.  So far, it sounded legit and I thoguht I woudl actually end up with something I could use. Then he said that there as a $2.95 shipping and handling charge that I did not have to pay now, but would need to pay when I received the gift cards.  This could only be paid by credit card.  Then he was going to give me a 7 digit password so that I could activiate my card when I received it.  However before he did that he needed to verify that I had a valid creidt card and wanted the security # of my card.  I told him that I don't give my credit card info over the phone.  He repeated hiself again as to the reason why he needed my card # and explained that he wasn't going to charge anything and the card could even have a $0 balance and could be a credit card, gas card or gift card.  I then told him I was not interested and he could give it to someone else.  He once again did his spill.  Finally I had to hang up on him.
