I am getting the same calls. A message was left on my parents answering machine saying she was Mrs. Elderman and that she is calling from CCR & Associates because there are files and claims in their office regarding a civil matter with my social security number. She gave me a case number for either myself or my attorney to reference when calling back. Does anyone know who this is or what it is? I am worried that it is just people trying to commit fraud by trying to get someone to give them their social security numbers.

Called named "Wesley Pierce" and that my number was given as a "primary reference" for who they were trying to contact. Said he was from the "Office of Litigation" and referenced a case number and his phone number and extension.  I tried to call him back to tell him he was calling the wrong number and ended up getting an answering machine. I read more information on this phone number and it sounds bogus.  I also looked up his "company" called "CCR & Associates" which also came up with other people responding about phone calls that they received such as these.

Message on my machine this morning from "John Hamilton of CCR Associates" regarding "a file he has received under John's name and SS number", and quoting a case number.

I am about to start a new job and I thought this might be part of the background check I was expecting, so I almost called back. But I was suspicious so I googled CCR, then searched for the 866 number. That was a close one.
