Received a letter in the mail today (December 8, 2012) postmarked "6 DEC 2012" from Phoenix, AZ 852, with this number.  No return address.  Definitely looks like a scam, and have seen others just like this with a different 866-949 phone number.

I have received the letter as Gil twice now.

Got this letter today(12.10.2012). Not the first one. I do remember getting similar letters in the past. I just threw them away because they just looked bogus...No return address, web site or email address. Who does business like that? Saw warning from BBB but did not see where it said who was really sending these letters or what they were about.
Oh well, thrashing this letter too.
It said it was from "United Airways", Cathy Ryan-Vice President, Phone number 1-866-949-1807

Got the same letter from Phx Az. I live in TX

I got this letter too.  Did a little research this is what I found!!  Definitely a SCAM!!  Most importantly make sure you pay attention to the NAME of the "company".  There is no "United Airways"!!  There is "United AIRLINES" and "US Airways"
