There is no return address's outside or on the Letterhead. ****does that tell you something****
The Top page has a LOGO and United Airways typed next to it.
***************** ITS NOT ***************
UNITED AIRLINES or their LOGO

What does this tell you, to me its hiding behind limited and no upfront information. And pretending to be a Major Airline. sneaky you bet. - SCAM_ALERTJust received the following by regular mail (no return address on envelope and my name/address was hand written):

As mentioned above, there is no such airline as United Airways. BEWARE.- Caller: Regular mail claiming to be from United Airways
- Anonymous1I recieved the exact same letter as the one above. The only difference in the two letters is the phone number. The phone number in the letter that I received is one number off. This is the number I received in the exact same letter:
1-866-949-5037
Instead of, 1-866-949-5027.
Obviously some sort of fraud is involved here because there is no such airline in this country called "United Airways". The letter I received was also postmarked "Phoenix, AZ", had no return address or other information on the envelope and my address was handwritten.
I would not call this number for any amount of money or prize. lol
Obviously a scam. - NotafoolGot one of these letters today. Same message different phone number, it was 1 866 949 5037. It was also postmarked phoenix. Going to call them from a payphone and give them a piece of my mind.
- Caller: Letter from United Airways
- AndySame thing here:
United Airways

- HeatherSame exact letter but with American Airways letterhead. Phone number was 1 866 949 5042. Also postmarked from Phoenix Az. Also slightly different fake vp---Denise Cole. Nothing like a scam just in time for the holidays
- Cillasame here... but number is 866-949-4760.
- Caller: United Airways
- Katherine in Austin TxSame here as above, with United Airways letterhead, number 866-499-5027, Cathy Ryan as "Vice President".
Thanks everyone for these posts, I definitely won't be calling thanks to the notices I found here.- Caller: United Airways
- R. GILRECEIVED SAME LETTER TODAY 12/3/12
- Caller: 1-866-949-5270
- DaveIdentical letter received. Amateurish. Obviously a scam.
- Bogus letterReceived the same letter yesterday (12/3) from Cathy Ryan (VP). The number given is 866-949-4760. No return address or other credible information. This smells of scam. BTW, United Airways is a real airline company located in India (according to wiki) that apparently services domestic flights in that country.
I tossed the letter into the recycling bin where it belongs. - Rob| 3 repliesI also got the same letter signed by C. Ryan and here's what I did.
Using *67 on my phone so my number does not come up, I called this number. It was answered by an automated voice stating to hold until a representative came on. I waited for about five minutes and, lo and behold some female voice did in fact come on the line. Now here's the good part. I have an Xcel soundboard with about 100 different fart sounds on it, one that lasts about 15 seconds that I use whenever I get an unwanted call. So, after I waited and a live voice came on the line, I blasted the 15 second fart sounds until they hung up. I did this four times yesterday, and begin again this morning, so far three times that I've managed to get a live voice on the phone. Since I'm retired and have nothing better to do, I'll just keep on doing this as many times as I can. I'm having a great time! - bess replies to Rob| 1 replygreat keep it up, i got a letter but can't do that
- Rob replies to bessDid it five times yesterday and so far, twice today. The first one this morning I got a “Patrick” to answer and I blasted him with the 15 seconder, called “Anus Madness” and after a couple of seconds I heard some cussing before he hung up. Guess I’m getting to them. I also have in reserve a couple of other good ones. My other favorites are Oprah Wind-Free, Tonya Farting and Dale Earnfart.
- CharlesI called their number that was included on my letter. They refused to give me the name of their company; they refused to provide an address; they gave false names (at first saying that the supervisor was Dylan, then saying his name was Bill); they pretend to be a call center for "travel rewards redemption" and that they will give flight vouchers for any airline that they have available from their travel agency. There was no one by the name of Cathy Ryan there. The person who originally answered the phone stated that her name was Yvonne, and when she left to find Cathy Ryan she came back and pretended to be someone other than the person who answered the phone. It was still "Yvonne" who was originally unable to assist. They put me through to "costumer service" where there is no one available to actually talk to so you must leave a message. Clearly a scam, so do not fall for them.
"Dylan" told me that there was no letter regarding United Airways and that I was misinformed. I told him that I had the letter in front of me and that I can read English and that it clearly says "united airways" at the top of the letter.- Caller: "United Airways"
- Gil replies to RobJust so you know, *67 only blocks Caller-ID .... it does not block sending your number to toll-free numbers (like 800, 888, 866, etc.). Since they are paying for the call, they receive the billing number for the number you called from, which is also called ANI, and for residential numbers it is more than likely your phone number.
Similarly, *67 will not block your number when you call 911 either. - FlyMy dad got the same letter and "check", though the VP is from an Ali Rey, amount is different, and the phone number different too.. 1-866-574-5370. No posts under that number on this site, but just fyi-ing everyone on changes and such.
