They left a message for a family member saying that there was a pending civil case for fraud, among other things, and that if my family member did not respond, the sheriff would server her notice within 72 hours. The message stated that if my family member did not return the call, she would waive all right to defend herself. This, of course, is utter BS. You do not waive your rights to defend yourself in court simply by not returning a phone call!

yeah i just rec'd this call and the guy said his name was investigator steven pratcher. he told me that there is a pending civil suit against me and that if i did not return his call that he would be sending a sheriff to serve me. first of all he is calling me at work. by threatening me and lying about who he is, he is breaking the law and harrassing me at work. this guy is a total idiot!

Just got a call from maxine billing. wanted the parent to assume debt or work a deal with attorneys. Almost fell for it. Not that I would pay. I didn't rack up the bill either.

Rrceived a call from Manine Billing stating that a sheriff would be out to serve me a summons if I did not respond by a certain date. Would like to see these theives arrested.

call from Investigator Maxine Billings calling for my sister (who doesn't live in my state, or have the same last name)saying she had charges pending in Broward City Court. gave this number call back and a case#. Similiar calls a couple times last year too. Are they getting numbers off people's cell phone bills?

Recieved message on my machine that a Donald Bradley was calling, said that it he was an investigator, and was with legal action recovery, that the call was in connection with a civil complaint that was going to be filed in another county in my state on case# ..... and that the call was an voluntary attempt to contact me before letigation important to contact him, failure to do so would result in court action and a summons to be issued.  I called, it is definately a collection agency, using lots of insinuating language, trying to say that my ex had a credit card that was issued just before our divorce 17 years ago and had been kept current til 2003 and that I was going to be held libel for the 5000 owed on the deliquent card.  WHAT A SCAMMING LIAR........haven't seen that deadbeat dad for years! And not a surprise that he's not paying his debts! The adacity of these liar's!

CMC and the related organizations did operate at one time out of Stone Mountain, GA. We have information that suggests they left GA after running up tens of thousands of dollars in defaulted judgments. The majority of the judgments resulted from civil claims by consumers who they threatened by violating both federal and state laws. They are now operating out of Buffalo, NY as a criminal debt collection office, posing as phony investigators attempting to bilk consumers out of money that they do NOT legally owe.)

The office is owned by Lamont M. Cooper, aka/Lamont Cooper, Desmond M. Cooper, (Dob: 07/16/1975 – FBI #870930TA4 – State ID#2033223T) Jahaan McDuffie and Donte Lee. All three are convicted felons and ex/current Drug dealers. They teach their employees to lie to the debtors to get paid on debts that are out of statute. They purchase debt with their drug money and add hundreds to thousands of dollars to the debt and have the debtor believe they are entitled to an out of court settlement.
Their caller id shows Atlanta, GA, they are using ‘Phone Spoof’ to fool the debtors. ALL CALLS GET ROUTED TO THE BUFFALO ADDRESS. There is no attorney office of Murray, Bradshaw and Associates. This agency is a complete farce. They gross at least $250,000 per month and its pure profit...everyone in the agency is related somehow so that the scam/scheme and play on.
Warn anyone contacted by them NOT to pay and NEVER give them any information on your bank or credit cards, they will steal your money!

A "Special Investigator" named Steven Pratcher (sp?) left a frightening voice message at my home stating that a "civil complaint" had been filed against me in Los Angeles, and that if I or my legal rep did not call within the next 48 hours a "warrant" could be issued for my arrest, at my home or place of business.

Because I had seen a similar scenario featured on the local news, I decided to Google the telephone number. I'm glad I did! I was surprised to see so many people with the same scenario, the same number, and even the same "investgator." I haven't yet returned this guy's call(s) and, after reading the numerous entries made by others who have, I don't plan to.

This man's "routine" is quite frightening, and even had me nervous, for a few minutes. I can only imagine how intimidated an elder person might feel, and how easily they might feel compelled to send money.

I just submitted the information to the FTC prior to submitting this. Thank you for hosting this site. If not for your site, I would have called this guy back and probably would have peed myself, by now!
