866-949-9513

I received a call today from a process server that was serving papers over the phone (?)... He told me to call 866-949-9513 and said that Sterling and Roberts had a case on me for Defrauding a Financial Institution and Fraudulent Use of Checks.  It was for a Payday Lender from 2 years ago.  I contacted my Attorney General's office, they told me it is a scam.  Per the assistant Attorney General he said they have ran all of the Payday Lenders out of my state and it is illegal in my state to lend money over the internet to a resident in my state with a checking acct in the same state.  It did scare me, I am an honest person.  I did take a payday loan out a few years ago, when I was having major financial issues from some medical issues I was having.  I sought out a consumer servicing agency and they directed me to the attorney generals office, who told me to close out my acct, and change my phone number if you dont want the phone calls, so I did as directed.

I just wanted to see if anyone else this happen and what the result was.  Also they called the other day and the number was 866-293-1000, when I called it back because I got disconnected it had a message about Singles in my area and then hung up.  WEIRD!, Today they called and it was Unavailable and they provided the number above for me to call the person handling my case.
