Our neighborhood is being blanketed by these so-called "important" notices.  They are yellow paper door-hangers.  They mention that you should call the number and be prepared with your account number.  Anyone else have this happen or has anyone identified the number?

Got this notice 6/9/09, and out of curiosity called the number. No one ever answered. But the greeting message says "Real Home Services & Solutions". Didn't find any california information about this company. OBVIOUSLY A SCAM!! Why woud you negotiate with a third party, that is in no way affiliated with your mortgage company. DO NOT GIVE ANYONE YOUR MORTGAGE ACCOUNT NUMBER. It's public info to find an owner's name (and beyond easy), but it's the account number that is private. Just shred the notice unless you feel like getting scammed. Or if it makes you feel better...call your own mortgage company and talk to a legitimate business.

Rep answered Named Ashmier Mauhammed, Stated he represented the mtg company Ackland or Auckland not sure.  He would not give me any information until I gave him my account number I refused he stated then I will not assist you unless you give me your account number I kept asking why they tagged our door and why they were doing this.  he still would not give me a reason and then he hung up.  I called my mtg company Taylor Bean and Whiticker they said they transfered the note to someone else due to recent events both with Me and them.  I should only work with those that are sent to me via mail directly from the lendor or the backer whos name should appear on file with my local registers office and or settlement paperwork at closing from the title office.  Hope this helps anyone that needs it.  They are reported to me as a third party mtg rep looking to refi or help in public records as my tax bill went unpaid and know is late and they send stuff out from thier and then tag all the

We got this note yesterday on our door. It said it came from our morgtage company but when I called out morgtage company they said they have no idea about the note. I called the number on letter and he stated he was from Ocwen Financial and asked for our account number which I did not give to him. He stated there were just trying to find out of the property was occupied. Why would they want to know if the property is occupied.

I'm not sure but I think this is a scam.

this is a number from OCWEN Financial (mortgage company). They are calling because you are delinquent on your payments and are about to be foreclosed on.  They are trying to find out of the property is occupied and if so, then they have procedures they have to follow in order to take over your property (bank owned).

    IT IS NOT A SCAM

Ignore Reo, he is obviously a sock puppet. If you called your mortgage company and they had no idea who these people are then they are obviously either just marketing their refi services or a total scam.

    Hello John,

You will receive notice to call 866-952-6514, if you have a mortgage that is being serviced by OCWEN Loan Servicing, LLC. Altisource Porfolio Services is also a related company of OCWEN. Most of their customers care calls are outsourced and get answered by reps at a call center in INDIA.

I deal with them all the time helping homeowners avoid foreclosure. The process with them could be very frustrating, so do not wait to the last minute to handle any loan issues you may have with your loan servicer.

you sued ocwen and won? how?  i was never a hardship or loan mod case... ocwen simply lost my aug 2011 payment to litton loan my previous loan servicer and then charged me for it, so i hired a lawyer who eventually told me to simply pay.... what was your particulars, and what was the smoking gun that stopped ocwen?   ocwen are thieves , beggars, and liars that cant find paperwork to save their lives... or your home

This number is definitely affiliated with OCWEN......  I tracked them down as we have squatters living next door.   It's their "Property Preservation Division", which I found out today is handled by Altisource.

I have received this notice from Altisource for a couple of months, we have already been foreclosed on and still have three months till we need to move.  The not says "Dear Occupant:  We are offering Cash-for-Relocation funds to FORMER OWNERS and RENTERS to help cover moving expenses."  I assume it is a scam, is this what everyone else has received or is this something different??  Thanks

Kbeah1, those that are stating that it is OCWEN/Altisource are correct. I am a Realtor and list foreclosed properties for them and, as mentioned, if you are getting calls from them, it is in reference to your loan. The offer of Cash for Keys is quite real in that they have foreclosed and taken ownership of the property and they are willing to offer cash to the occupant (may be a tenant that is still paying rent and has no clue the owner has not paid their mortgage). I am doing a Cash for Keys ($5000 in this case) swap tomorrow morning on a Bank of America property. This is definitely not a scam. If you don't respond to them or to the real estate agent that will eventually send you letters, they will start eviction proceedings. They would just rather offer the cash to make it more simple and give the former owner or tenant something to help them move.

I am living in a relative house who passed away . They did not have a will nor did they have anyone as the adminstrator.   They were married and the spouse moved out of the house  , because the other spouse did not have them on the deed.  I lost my job.  The house is in foreclosure to OCWen. OCWEN will not talk to us, because we are not authoriized on the loan.  We have been receiving the doorposter also from Altisource.  RIght, now, we have no where to go. Altisource, is only telling us that they might be able to give cash for keys,  We have no idea how long we can stay.   I have no job, and can not get an apartment nor house to rent at the moment. We have not received no other notices from OCWEN that they did not sell, or if it has going back to the back.  All I want to know is how long do we have before they evict us.  I am trying to make arrangements to move in with relatives
