ID said KINGSTON JM.  I didn't answer, there was no message.  Wondered what they were trying to sell.  First time I saw a call from this number.  Anyone else had a call from this number?

DO NOT CALL THAT NUMBER BACK!

    1) The call was from a scammer, trying to entice you to send money
    2) If you return the call, it will cost you money!  (Keep reading)
    3) The 876 (Island of Jamaica) prefix is VERY frequently used by scammers, and WILL cost you money if you call it back and don't have free international calling.
    4) Some folks think all 8xx area codes are "toll free".  That is NOT true!  Scroll down for more 8xx numbers that will be charged at long distance rates.

Some area codes are not toll-free numbers and calls from any other area code are billed at international long distance rates.

Some curious people return the call and will immediately be charged $19.95 for an international call fee and an additional $9-per-minute charge, according to a news release from the BBB.

Here is a list of some area codes that will be billed as international calls:

    242 Bahamas
    246 Barbados
    264 Anguilla
    268 Antigua
    284 British Virgin Islands
    345 Cayman Islands
    441 Bermuda
473 Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique
    649 Turks and Caicos
    664 Montserrat
    758 St Lucia
    767 Dominica
    784 St. Vincent & Grenadines
    809, 829, 849 Dominican Republic
    868 Trinidad and Tobago
    869 St. Kitts & Nevis
    876 Jamaica

Scam call from "Winners International". Man with an Indian accent trying to convince me that I won the Publishers Clearinghouse contest. Told him we didn't need the winnings, and to give them to somebody more deserving... :) He was speechless...

To the operator of this site: You need to add one more category to the Call Type below - SCAM.
