- Amy replies to connie2katsI have received several calls from someone in Jamaica claiming to be from Publisher's Clearing House stating that I had won several million dollars. I received a call this morning from a an individual with a thick accent who mispronounced my name claiming to be from Publisher's Clearing House and that if I wanted to claim my prize (which supposedly had been won several weeks earlier) to call a specific number. The number, unknown to him, was researched to be in Jamaica. I cannot say how many times I have not answered the phone when I see JM (for Jamaica)on the caller ID.
- CAL| 1 replyMy mother sent this person money. If anyone has an address from them where they requested a check be sent please let me know. They cashed a check she mailed to them.

- B-Edwards replies to CALThis scam is run from Jamaica. If she sent a check, that is the address you will have to start with, but I am pretty sure any address they use has already been folded. You might try by contacting the bank, but these crooks are very good at hiding.
Other posts suggest this was a Lottery scam - Publishers Clearing House is popular with the Jamaicans, it is their signature scam.
You need to have a talk with mom, and monitor her banking and maybe outgoing calls. It is very possible she will be contacted again, and scammed again. Set up call blocking on her phone to block calls from the 876 area code.
Talk to her bank about getting alerts if she goes to a branch to withdraw money or get bank checks. - nuts crackrSame Publishers Clearing House scam still going on.
