Said he was from Sweepstakes Clearinghouse. Said I had won a car and they would deliver it at 1:00. It was coming from Richmond, IN and when I talked enough to let him know that I was not interested, he said f***** you and hung up, That was the first time on June 21, 2013. They called back on July 5th and I didn't answer the phone.  How can they have a cell phone number?

DO NOT return the call from someone calling from a 876 area code.
This is not a toll free "800" number, it is the international long distance code for the island nation of Jamaica. You are charged international and long distance rates for calling this number. Other international/long distance area codes are 809, 284, and 649.
    http://www.att.net/smartcontrols-809AreaCode

Scammers use these numbers to not only try to scam you out of money, but also sting you with high phone call rates.

    Also:
    It is a scam:
    http://info.pch.com/consumer-information/fraud-protection

They never require any money, purchases, taxes, fees, or deposits of any kind to get your prize.

Publishers Clearing House DOES NOT call, email, FAX, mail, any advanced notice that you have won.

"If you are ever contacted by someone claiming to represent PCH, or claiming to be one of our employees,  and asked to send or wire money (for any reason whatsoever, including taxes); or send a pre-paid gift card or Green Dot Moneypak card in order to claim a sweepstakes prize – DON’T!  It’s a SCAM. If you are sent a check, told it’s a partial prize award, and asked to cash it and send a portion back to claim the full prize award, DON’T.  The check is fake, but the SCAM is real!

Publishers Clearing House does not operate this way and would NEVER ask for money to claim a prize award.  PCH employees would never contact you personally or in advance to notify you of a prize award.  Our prize awards are presented just the way you see in our popular TV commercials, ‘live and in person’ by our Prize Patrol, with balloons, champagne and check in hand - - and with no advance notification!"

I just received a call from "Dwayne Peterson" at this number telling me I had won an Aston Martin through some "sweepstakes clearinghouse" and it was being delivered at 12:30 today.

There was a recurring beeping noise on the line.

It's still amazing that people are stupid enough to try and scam/bs thier way to what ever. The caller said that they were from UPS and they had a delivery for me so I said "deliver it". He said he had to talk to me for a while. That's when I hung up. What a bunch of dumb F'rs!!!

I got a call from this dude that went on for 8 minutes, in which he started by saying I had a truck to be delivered, then went as far as him telling me my wife has AIDS and that he was going to bomb me and send me to Jesus. I don't take this kinda stuff seriously, but I imagine it could be pretty upsetting to some people so just ignore it, and block it if possible.

I got a call from this number 10-1-13 he said he was from UPS (I was expecting a delivery so I listened) he said he wanted to deliver at 2pm. I wasn't thinking I guess when I said I had a dentist appt and would not be home - he put me on hold then came back and asked my name - I gave my name still thinking it was UPS and then he said something about needing to deliver 2.5 million... I then said - this sounds like a crank call then he called me a #$%ing [***]... I hung up.

The call was from Jamaica. 876 is their area code and is not a toll free number.  Almost all calls coming from 876 are a scam of some sort.

Some degenerate named "Michael" called me and said he had a package for me. When I asked
him to name the person the package was for he hung up. The background noise sounded like he was at a public pool or a school of somekind.

Beware of anyone calling from this number: 876-503-3098!

A man just called claiming to be from a delivery service. Asked if I would be at home at 1:30 p.m. today and wanted to know if I was Black, Hispanic, or Asian. He said I won $2.2 million and asked me to select from a number of luxury cars (Mercedes, BMW, Bentley). I excused myself and said I would call back. Then I found this website. Enough said. My caller ID, which he asked me about, said the call was from Jamaica, but I did not look at it until I got off the phone with him.
    • Caller: He said UPS, I think.
