I missed a call from this number and after looking up the area code I added the number to my call blocker. I don't know anyone from Jamaica so they have no business calling me. I have an app on my cell phone that is called Calls Blacklist and it works extremely well...and it was free in the google play store.

If anyone else gets a call from this or any other number originating in Jamaica, DO NOT CALL BACK. You might end up with a huge phone bill if you do; even though this is an 876 area code, it's not a toll-free number. Quite the opposite.

From a recent post by DaFox, dealing with one-ring phone calls (slightly edited):
“Kevin Smith, [not his real name], 83, has a cellphone to call family. His son … manages the account and gets the bill.
The bill had been $35 a month, but April's bill totaled more than $760.
“I freaked out. I knew something had happened that wasn't right,” [his son] said.

Kevin Smith was the target of the "one ring scam," in which the phone rings one time and the unsuspecting victim checks the missed number.
The scammers hope the person is curious enough to call the number back. At that point, the victim has reached con men in Jamaica and using a system similar to a 900 number, they charge as much as $30 a minute….”
