A man called and told me I won a certified check and a car. He gave me the name of a man, phone #, & a prize claim #. He said to call right away. I went to the rest room then called my husband to see what he thought. No sooner am I out of the bathroom and the man is calling me to see if I called yet. I told him I was in the rest room and was getting ready to call. First, I wanted to verify with the publisher's clearing house as to the validity off this. They said no, it is not them and it was a scammer & to have no further contact with them, that if you win with publisher's clearing house, they do not call, they show up at your home if it's real. The second I hung up with them, the man was calling to see if I called yet. I told him I had not. That I was verifying it with the publisher's clearing house first and he hung up on me. Scary world we'really living in. Hope this helps someone.

I just received same call today

The exact same thing just happened to my wife.  Eventually she hung up on the guy.

The caller ID said "Jamaica" so that was suspicious for me. The man said "Do you remember signing up for publisher's clearing house. I said no, I don't think so. Then he hung up on me. Obviously if I'd said "Yes" he would have tried to scam me.

I just spoke with someone named John Ford who gave me the same information. He said that I needed to go to my local Walmart to presumably pick up a check or whatever.  I told him that my wife took the car to work and I had no transportation. He told me to call her and then call him back  He asked what I planned to do with 2.6 million dollars and 10 thousand weekly for life. Oh yes, I also won a 2018 Mercedes convertible. Hi number was 1-876-582-6783. He also gave me a winner's confirmation number. His voice sounded suspicious and I heard a rooster crowing in the background. When I questioned that sound he said that it was electronic noise. Sure sounds like a country scam artist from Jamaica or a similar country! Beware!

I was also told I won publishers clearing house. When I called him a scammer he started a verbal assault, Threatening me and my family. I continued to egg him on and he eventually hung up on me. Horrible people

Told me I won a Mercedes and it would be pulling up in my driveway in 30 minutes. It would be followed by a pickup. I also had won $1000 a month for life. All I needed to do is give him $300 for tax. Hung up.
