some bogus debt collection ring

They told me that they were going to issue an order to have me arrested for a payday loan fron 2010

Absurd threat.  Only judges issue warrants for arrest.  No debt collector can issue any
kind of warrant for anything.  Being in ordinary civil debt IS NOT A CRIME.  You cannot
be arrested for it.  We do not have debtors prisons in the US.

If they continue to bother you,  and you know you do not owe any money, tell them that you know this is  a debt scam and that you are making a complaint to the police for extortion.  Once you get a copy of the police report and they call you again , just read out the  file number and the name of the PD or Sheriff’s office involved.   Tell them you’ll be glad to send a copy to them at whatever address the jack***es are working out of now.

You have to get tuff with these people because,  being akin to thugs, brute force is (metaphorically speaking),  the only thing they understand.

Same thing, payday loan for $400 from 2010. Never took such a thing then. They had the last 4 digits of ssn, address and name of my bank correct somehow. Wanted me to resolve now or a summons will be issued. Claimed have sent certified letters to my address which i know i never received, nor have I taken any payday loans. Told to go ahead with their summons, hung up :)

Same place called today but from different number 877-205-2817

My daughter received a voice mail from these "scam collectors". Knew it had to be a scam. Once the contact number was searched, that confirmed it was a scam. We don't owe anyone but car and house note.
