- Rick| 6 repliesCalled us asking for our adult son, claiming he owed money. We had him call back. The guy claimed he owed from some Internet loan and our son has never been involved in such a thing. Our son told the man to send the information. The guy immediately said he'd make a deal and our son could just send half the money he "owed." Our son told him to send the information in the mail again. The man said he would send it via email. Our son said, "No, I want you to send it through regular mail so I have a physical copy of the information." At that point our son heard another voice say to the caller, "Just hang up!" At which point the call was terminated.
We have had numerous scam calls similar to this one always with the same line. They claim our son owes money. I have threatened them with prosecution and at times called them every name in the book. They generally end for a while then start up again from a different number.- Caller: GDPS Consultants

- DJThere was a message on my telephone asking for my son. The message was that there is a claim against him at UDPS from a Cynthia Phiilips threatening if he did not call back that they would go to his employer, the County and to our home if he doesn't call back. This is a Landline to Lilburn, GA. My son doesn't live with us nor has he done any internet loans. These people are nothing but scam artist who need to be prosecuted to the fullest extend of the law. Shame on the Telephone Company letting these scam artist get away with this garbage. They left the toll free number which should be shut down now. I am forwarding this information to the Attorney General of the State of Colorado. I suggest everyone do the same in their States to stop the fraud and scams running rapid there this country.

- kendra70| 3 repliesThere was a message on my answering machine tonight that said I need to have my brother to call this number Immediately, 1-877-205-2906 . I was looking at the caller ID and the number that was being called from was 1-678-527-8283 in Atlanta NE Georgia. Same scam as the above:
The message was that there is a claim against him at UDPS from a Cynthia Phiilips threatening if he did not call back that they would go to his employer, the County and to his home if he doesn't call back. He lives on disability so I doubt he will be making any calls to them.- Caller: UDPS
- Butch replies to kendra70| 2 repliesI received the same call from UDPS stating I had an outstanding payday loan. I immediately asked for the paper work via mail and they refused to send me anything(clue #1 of a scam). The more questions I asked the more agitated he became until he finally hung up on me. I found nothing on the internet about this UDPS except these forums!! He also told me that it was a curtousy call and they were not trying to obtain payment, BUT I could take care of the balance today through procesing if I wanted!!
- TW| 5 repliesReceived a similar call from these people, if you want to call them that, looking for my sister. They stated that they were investigating fraud allegations against her. They had my number but not hers. Yeah right, she never uses my number, she knows better, LOL. So definitly it was a scam. Beware!

- MB replies to TW| 4 repliesI received two messages stating I or my attorney return their call at 1-877-205-2906 by a Cynthia Phillips from one message and a Ken Hayes on the second message stating if I didn't return the call they would contact my employer, send information to my county and home. The message also stated there was a complaint against me and when I do return the call I should use the case # provided, then when the information was repeated the term claim # was used. I figured it was a scam and these forum posts shows that.
- TMB44I received a couple of calls from this joint on April 6, 2012. A woman told me about an "investigation" and fraud I perpetrated due to a pay day loan. I told her this was a scam and she assured me that they were a valid company. I asked for her insurance number. Nothing. I asked her the name of the supposed creditor. After a few minutes of going through charges and things and listing the names of my sisters she told me it was a pay day loan company. I informed her said loans are illegial in my state, North Carolina, and that I would not be paying them a cent. I asked her to mail me proof of debt. She went on and on and said I was rude and wouldn't tell her my address. She had my address. It was very strange. A company 4 years ago tried to get me to pay this same bogus loan. The Attorney General of my state advised me not to pay a cent so I stopped payment on the check for payment as I did not owe the debt anyway. 4 years ago I was just a week shy of having my baby and I was a bit preoccupied with other things in my life. Now this UDPS is calling about this check for the same bogus debt. I don't know how I will ever get rid of this scam. I called for their address today and they would not give it to me. I wanted to send a debt validation letter but they said if I wanted to refuse to pay I could just tell them and they would start their process. I told them I wanted to send a debt validation letter and they said they would email or fax me something. No, I want a real piece of paper. I was asked to hold but I hung up. Hopefully, I will not hear from them again.

- Karin replies to Rick| 5 repliesSame thing keeps going on with me. I called the Attorney Generals Office and there office number has a warning sign that comes up and DON'T give them a credit card over the phone. Have them send information through the United States Postal Service. Her name was Cynthia Phillips. They were telling me these companies use pre-paid cell phone numbers. I told her off today. So I just got done calling the Attorney General's office in Ohio.
- Karin replies to MB| 3 repliesI have filed numerous complaints against this company. Same people Cynthia Phillips and Ken Hayes. They are scam artists. Attorney general said that this number comes up as a WARNING. Don't give them any credit card numbers or Debit cards. They said they are always coming to my house and work, which is against the law. I said come one over. I'm now going to the police station to file a report against this company.
- AbbyJust rec'd a call at work from this company. Woman left a message on the recorder that I was being brought up on fraud charges and she needed to speak to me or my attorney. I called State Attorney General (live in N.C.) and gave them the 877 number - but also the woman called from phone number 678-627-8283 - but told me in the message left to call 877-205-2906. She then called twice more in a row and left identical messages. So glad I checked this number out and found out she was fraud. The attorney general's office said NOT to give my credit card number to them - they were scammers. Said best not to contact them at all. so - that is what I will do - NOT CALL THESE SCAMMERS back - just let them leave messages for me and then delete them. Their 877 number comes up as a WARNING according to the attorney general office.
- CBThey keep calling me and my job telling me that they would like to speak with me that I owe them money and I have never took any money from any pay day loan company. Every time the call I ask them questions and they would tell me that I would be under investigation and all of this stuff and that they would send the info to my job. What type of stuff is that. I wish they would stop calling and today I am making sure that I call the attorney generals office to have this taking care of. Thanks everyone that has posted other stuff from these people.

Well let me tell you people something, I've encountered some very nice people in the collection agencies where all you have to do is not be on the defensive and hear them out. The reason these collectors have to be so rude is because they have to track you down just to pay your own debt. Take responsibility and know whats on your credit report and gain a favorable credit score like i did. Hey, i dont give check info over the phone but i will mail in my payments.
