This is a scam trying to get you to give out your credit card number. They claim that you made a purchase online for something. They also give you some bogus email that the item was purchased under to make you think that your card number was stolen. They ask you to read out your card number to "check it" against their records. I turned the table on them and asked them to read me the last 4 numbers of the card they had on file. They said, "For security reasons we can't tell you that", and my response was, "For security reasons I'm not telling you my number". I kept yanking his chain for sevaral more minutes until he got frustrated and hung up. The number is busy when I tried calling it back.

They call me several times and whenever I answer the number automatically disconnects. Good thing though, seeing as how it's a scam.

I received a call from this number. They said they were ezgrantsource.com. I asked to be removed from their list. They said that I would be charged $50 per month. I asked how that could be if I haven't given them my credit card number. They said they had a number. I asked if the last four digits were that of my card number. They confirmed it was. They gave me an email address associated with the request that started this whole thing, but it wasn't mine. I asked to cancel any transactions. They gave me a customer service number which I called and cancelled the account. They had already charged me $3.95 on my credit card for shipping. It showed up as ezgrantsite.

Apparently, they offer a CD or something and get your credit card to pay for shipping. They also have a service that can charge you $50 to $60 per month for their services, but I have seen other blogs where people were not aware of the charges until it was too late. It may be buried in the fine print. They may have a legitimate service, but I don't even know what it is.

They told me that they couldn't credit my account for the shipping, so I told them I would be disputing the amount with my credit card company. I found two other charges on my credit card so I had to cancel the card and start a fraud investigation. I will probably contact my local police department as well.

one of many calls from various numbers asking for a particular name, the same name, of a female who does not live here. I hung up.
I have googled the other numbers and they are all scams. Not sure why or what the purpose is for these calls but I don't give out any info except that they have the wrong number and hang up.

I have received 3 calls from this number since yesterday. it's funny how there seems to be several references to Government Grants. I think i may have been taken. They want to send you a FREE cd and info for $2.95 with no obligation fo course. I thought what the hell. What didn't see is the part about membership at a monthly cost of $79.95 to begin at the end of your "free" 10 day trial membership. Nothing mentioned about membership or fee's on front page. I'm just hoping to get out and they can have the lousy $3.

I've been getting calls from the same number. Not until I read your message did I realize the connection. I JUST finished disputing the SAME fraud with my bank. Thanks for answering their call, since I never answer numbers with no ID.

I see reference to government grants a lot on these posts. Im getting these calls too. I got sucked in on an add on Yahoo and ordered the CD from Government grants 2-3 weeks ago for 3.95 S&H and there is a fine print that will charge you something like $70 a month. basically its a charge to use the free writing programs and where to find and apply for free money to get grants for education and new homes. dont think its a scam. the information is out there you just have to pay the 70 bucks a month to use their service. wasnt worth it for me. The confirmation email I got said I had 3 day trial and after that my CC would be charged at the monthly rate. I called the 800 number to cancel my subscription the next day. Make sure you cancel ASAP if you dont want your CC to be charged. I got a confirmation email saying it was in fact canceled but I will still monitor mine to make sure it hasnt been charged. Im not sure why they are still calling me, I dont answer
