- BigA replies to Frank| 3 repliesWhat I feel bad for is young people like you who somehow think that the elderly are nothing but a bunch of senile, drooling idiots who are so stupid that they can barely function in today's society. Â Then I look at all the threads on this website where young people in their late teens and early twenties have been taken for thousands and thousands of dollars. Â I know of at least 6 threads here, one of which has almost a hundred pages where those young people fell for an underage girl scam. Â Now according to you those people should have been able to check into numbers and find all the information they needed to know online to keep from being scammed, yet they didn't. Â The BBB did a survey and it was proven that young people are more apt to be scammed then older people. Â Would you like to comment on those facts?
- Lynne replies to JodiI too 12-18-2020 Easy to Google ph # first! I always do that! Don't even bother to check my card. Came to this site Scam.
- AngelaP replies to JodiGot this message today and a phone call prior. I always look at and Google 877 numbers. Knew it was a scam.
- AngelaP replies to BigA| 1 replyI am 60. I too know that scammers do look for elderly people. I have always checked even when younger. Yes everyone that doesn't check 1st can be scammed. No need for the hostility. I always inform my friends and family, young and old to be cautious about these calls.

Probably 99% of the calls made are made using computer software (autodialer).  They set the software to call all the 4 digit combinations in an area code and prefix.  So, the only way that they could target or look for elderly people that way is if they somehow knew that all the people in that area code and prefix were elderly.  I'm also not sure where you got "hostility" out of that.  I'm just getting tired of people claiming that only old folks can get scammed when I know better.Quote:I too know that scammers do look for elderly people. - packratditto previouis posts, this time text msg claiming to be BLAIR

- LeftySame message, different business. Mine is Comenity for Maurice's. The bad/scary thing is that they know my name, my home and cell number, my email address and no telling what else. I mistakenly picked up the phone one day when hurrying into the house. The guy had a really thick accent. I couldn't understand him. I hung up when I couldn't make out what he was saying. Â But, a couple of weeks later I called the number ON MY CARD for info on an item I bought. This guy had the same accent and hard to understand. Makes you wonder if the people answering the phones at Comenity are sharing info, or have been hacked, or what?? So, besides this site, who do you tell?

I did not provide any information and hung up. Logged into my account and no notification from them stating anything. SCAM
