- Andrew| 1 replyRepeated calls from the number 877-218-9645, sometimes as often as once every 30 minutes, everyday. My parents also get the same type of calls, and according to them people claiming to have better ways of transferring money to Sri Lanka, apparently targeting people in the U.S. with Sri Lankan sounding last names.
- smittyCalls several times a day. The caller called me by my name and said he is calling from Sri Lanka. I would like to know who these people are and what they are up to.
- RojuI also got many many calls from 8772189645 and 8772189640 everyday during last two weeks. They never left a message. I picked up the phone finally and the guy on the other side said his name was Rajan from Sri Lanka and asked for me by calling my full name. I did not know anybody by Rajan in Sri Lankan, so I played dead and finally he hung up. Hope he will not call me again. This is a scam perhaps calling Sri Lankan living in the US.
- NPRI've been receiving calls from this # as well. My experience is similar to the previous commentors. I filed a complaint with the "Do not call registry".
- annoyedI get calls from this number pretty much every day, some days about every 30 minutes. It's even continuing after we actually answered this past weekend, probably because we said yes to being Sri Lankan. He promptly hung up
- IrritatedI received a call from this number 4 times in 30 minutes everyday on my BUSINESS line. Finally, I answered & he not only asked if I was Sri Lankan, I said no, but then point blank said, your last name sounds Sri Lankan & we are only calling those people. When I asked why, no response. When I said take me off whatever list you have, he said, no problem.
I called the number back & was afraid of staying on hold too long in case they - IrateI finally picked up the calls from 877 218 9645 a man telling me that he was Sri Lankan and offering to 'transfer money' I informed him that i was not interested. He called several times, I picked up the phone to tell him I intended to trace his call. Feb 28th 2010.
I dont think this is LTT as I have a spanish sounding name which does not represent the tamil minority. This is harrasement and a scam.- Caller: Claims to be SriLankan
- LaterReceived calls from 877-218-9645 on 03/02/10 and 03/03/10. A guy asked he can transfer money to Sri Lanka for a fee of few dollars. He kept calling on 03/03/10 several times for the same purpose and we didn't pickup the call. Thia may be a fraudulent business.
- Angry Sri LankanFirst a woman called from this 1-877-218-9645 and asked if I was Sri Lankan and if I spoke Sinhala. I repled Yes, and continued the conversation in Sinhala. She offered to promote a money transferring service to Sri Lanka. I kindly rejected the offer since I do not transfer money to Sri Lanka. Two days later, a man by the name of Roshan who claimed SL04 is his ID number, called to promote the same service - Remit2Home.com He and his team, aparently found Sri Lankan sounding names from white pages. Upon researching about this service I found it to be a scam. Today (3/13/2010) another guy by the name of Dileesha called to promote the same service. To me it seemed that he knew that this so called service is under investigation for scams, especially having borrowed from similar domain name - RemitHome.com. Shamelessly, he kept denying all the evidence, and kept saying that their service is legitimate. Although they mentioned that the Sri Lankan company Anton PVC founded this service, it is based on an Indian company called Times of Money Ltd. To me, this service sounds extremely fishy. I encourage people to take caution and beware of such scams.

- Saman SamarasekeraFirst I was also suspicious and thought of reporting this website to the authorities because they call me 5 time a day!!!!. after intolerable frustration I answered the call . A person named Rehan(rehanofernando@gmail.com) spoke to me and asked me if I could spare 2 minutes of my time. He was very friendly so I said ok and registered on this web site. They offer great exchange rates and a reliable service through the US Citibank. uptodate I have been sending money for the last 6 months. I'm extremely satisfied with this service and recommend it to all my friends and family. I'm 100% convinced that this is not a sachem because I called the Citibank and verified their associations with remit2home before taking any risk sending money, I recommend others to do so, for any justification or drought. But they should stop calling people who are not interested !!!!!
