This is a call from Bank of Montreal. Probably to tell you to activate your debit card at a BMO terminal.

Legit call! BMO automated call - included certain identifying info for our account - letting us know our non-chip debit card would cease to function in a month; need to visit a branch to have it switched out with a chip version. Non-interactive call, didn't request us to do anything during the call, simply an outbound advisory.

I can confirm that it is legitimate. This is an automated message from BMO Security informing you that your debit card has been compromised. If you get this call it means your debit/Interac card is now dead and you need to go to your branch immediately to replace it. It does not necessarily mean you've lost money, it means you recently used your card at a location that has had its debit machines compromised.  What is annoying is the caller ID just shows "Toll Free Service" instead of BMO so I ignored it as all other "Toll Free Service" calls I get are bogus. But if you get this call and you are a BMO customer, take it seriously and go to your branch. If you are not a BMO customer and for some reason get the call, something has gone wrong and you should contact your closest BMO branch as well. There is no "Call Type" option for "legitimate security notification" which is why I left it as unknown.

i called this number identified on check received for $ 3,000.00 Verizon Computer Share Inc.  The number was not answered appropriately as a company, it was answered, "Hello".  I questioned the check and she put me on and the line went dead, I called again from the same number no answer, called from cell phone and they answered but this time with the company name.  I don't trust these guys....

DEFINITELY A SCAM - TRIED TO GET MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER.
I CONFIRMED WITH BMO THAT THIS WAS NOT A LEGIT CALL.

I received a phone call from this number yesterday, it showed up as "BMO Bank of Montreal ATM". I ignored it but got another call today so I picked up, thinking it was about my credit card.

The caller told me they were from BMO and that they had blocked a recent suspicious transaction made on my card. They gave me some details and said their colleague would call me soon.

The next call piqued my suspicion. I asked a lot of questions and got answers that didn't make sense. The call started breaking up and they hung up.

I called the number on the back of my card and confirmed that this was definitely a scam call.

DO NOT REVEAL YOUR CREDIT CARD INFO OR OTHER IDENTIFYING INFORMATION ON UNSOLICITED CALLS.

HANG UP AND CALL THE NUMBER ON YOUR CARD IF YOU'RE NOT SURE ABOUT A CALL, EVEN IF IT LOOKS LEGITIMATE.

Received a call from this number stating that they were the credit card company, my number had been stolen. Asked for my credit card number for authorization to speak further, pressured me to pull over (while driving) so I could quickly give them my card number to resolve the issue.

Many scams going on right now with people spoofing the number of credit cards and claiming to be the credit card company!
