Did not receive a call but did receive a card from Nationalgrid on door to call 1-877-247-3614 to set up an appointment to check meters and gas piping. I called an 800 number on my NationalGrid
bill and asked them about the notice. They did not recognize the number and did not know anything about notices being delivered. Believe this is a scam

I have got the same note. Addressed to somebody who doesn't live here or current resident. Asking to make appointment to check gas piping and meters. But my apartment has no gas installation!

Received a letter from these people asking to call this number and make an appointment.   The number I am told is a calling center.  I am further told that National Grid has outsourced the calls to this calling center and the center makes the appointments and contacts the technician.  I don't know what is happening here.  I am concerned because the appointment they made is for Columbus Day weekend between 4.50 and 8.50 p.m. which seems like a strange time frame.

Received a notice for inspection a week ago with requesting to call this number. I suspected this, because "Nationalgird" word was always blue color, but this one. So, I didn't do anything...Just curious, how could they had my name and account number correctly???

Received a note without addressing to name and address from national grid.    My guess is it could be from pyramid scheme/MLM agent.  By going to your house they'll make you to switch to their dealership product.  Even though they got discounts from national grid,  they add their admin cost, operation cost and profit,  the price is higher than national grid.  They hide some fee before preseting to you. Scam.

Got a letter claiming to be from National Grid, and that they needed to do a "safety inspection". I called the regular National Grid number, and they said it wasn't them who sent it. The letter had no company letterhead, the account number wasn't one I recognized, and the phone number isn't one associated with National Grid.

This is a home maintenance type of scam.  Toss the card. Don't call crooks, that is how you get more calls.

I got a letter saying that National Gas wanted to inspect my pipes and meter. I only realized it was a scam when I mentioned that National Gas wanted to install a new meter. They told me to call back after the new meter had been installed. It didn't make sense that NG wouldn't check the safety of the system while they were there. In retrospect, I should have realized it was a scam as there was no NG header but the letter was well written and had details like account numbers.

No call but received a letter claiming to be National Grid needing to do a periodic safety inspection as required by federal regulations. The fact that there was no blue on the envelope or the letter itself threw red flags so I Googled the number & it led me here. A scam for sure.

I called National Grid directly and they said that this is indeed a legitimate inspection.

It's an outside contractor of National Grid.  They do gas meter leak inspection every year on the commercial building and every 3 years on the residential.  They didn't call but did ring the bell and dropped a card if couldn't access the gas line and/or send letter.  I have their inspection for many years. They did the inspection or replaced meter every 7 years. Free of charge. No personal info, SSN, or CC required.  None.
