My parents received a call from someone stating that I had a bad check and that they were going to prosecute me if I did not appear in court and that since my parents answered their phone, that it served as a summons; They left a return number of 877-247-7640 but the phone number they called from was a calling card phone number that has many scam reports.

I got a call from a person named Erica from an Unknown number.  She said that they have been unable to reach me by phone or at my place of residence.  She said that she was calling in regards to a bad check I had written and that she needed to verify my address so they could deliver the summons.  I would not do that.  Would not give me any info about the alleged check, the amount, the date it was written, or who it was written to.  She told me I would have to call 877-247-7640 and reference a case number to get more info.  The kicker for me was that if I did not, this company has "agents" that will come and find me personally at my home or work.  She clearly does not understand the Fair Debts Collection Practices Act and broke several of those rules but I did not have a phone number to turn in Erica.  I did file a complaint with the FTC for the above number.  They also called my parents and my in-laws telling them as much as they told me AFTER she talked to me personally.  I could not believe it.

received a call from Sean Green for bad check on 6/1 and again on 7/6.  He said he was a "process server" and will be coming out to my place of employment or residence.  The call came in as "unknown".  This is so ridiculous.
