We received a call from this number but we do not have any banking relationship with US Bank.  How do you know for sure that this is their number for their credit card.

Called my home and cell on same day, didn't leave a message. If it has to do with US Bank they are barking up the wrong tree, I dont have an account or credit card with them

I happened to still be at my desk shortly after 5:00 PM EST when the phone rang. I saw the Caller ID and decided to answer, rather than let it go to voice mail. The person just said "hello, I'm looking for (someone whose name was unfamiliar) who is employed there. Can you put me in touch with him?" I said "I'm sorry, but that name is unfamiliar". They said, "It's XXXX XXXX." I said, "Yes. I've never heard of him." "So XXXX XXXX no longer works there?" I said, "I don't recognize the name. This is a large University. I don't know that XXXX XXXX ever worked here, sorry." Long pause. "Welll.... OK, thanks."

You know, because pushing me and repeating the name several times will change my answer to "Why, yes, yes I DO know XXXX XXXX, in fact, here--let me give you his home and cell, his home email, his Employee ID #, directions to his house..." I know WHO you are, and I know WHAT you are, and you have no business calling my department even IF he ever did "work" here (probably a long-lost grad student).

You have to realize that no ethical or moral person with an education would become a debt collector.  So these people hire the bottom of the barrel and/or convicted felons to work for them.
