- JJ| 2 repliesI received a call from the same number and person, Tony, saying I won a car via a signup in the last year. The message left an ext of 109. I did not call the number.
- unkWe also got a call from "Tony" stating we won a car which we never sign up for. same # and ext as noted above.
- Caller: unk
- CCI got the sane call and they left a message on my machine saying this is Tony from some civic center saying I had entered in a drawing in the last 12 months and that I had won.. He tells you to call back at 1-877-279-3459 and tells you Ext 109... when you call this number it tells you to enter in the conference code. does not take ext 109. I see that some people are having the same problem..
- Jim, Viera FL| 1 replySame call, same BS. It's a recording (I picked up and tried to talk but the mesaage just kept going). Came from a T-Mobile cell phone in Chicago Hts area, according to a reverse phone # look-up.
- Granny-FloridaI got the same call, saying it was in response to a drawing that was entered in my name 12-18 months ago and that I had won one of four major prizes, same man (Tony) from some civic center. He left a strange phone number, 438-1877-279-3459 X109. I did not return the call.
- Shelley, FloridaI have received this call twice since November, 2009. I finally filed a complaint today with FTC.gov. They said they were adding my complaint to a database available to law enforcement.
If you want to complain, go to www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and click on the brown-gold Complaint Assistant box in the upper right side of the page. - jhI received the same call today, from Tony. He mentioned something about a civic center and that someone at my number won a car, the fact that he did not mention a name tells me that it is a scam. He left the same number and ext. that everyone on this post has. I have filed a complaint like Shelly, thanks for the link.
- W, FloridaI got this same call from "Tony" Same callback number and Ext. I tried to call it back and it rang twice then went to a "This number has been disconnected" recording. The volume did't go to the ear shattering level that is normal for the tones and it didn't immediately go to the recording. Are they using the recording to get number verifications?
- m Fla| 2 repliesHe's not saying "civic center." (duh). I just got this same call 1:30 pm (edt) Jan 8th, third or fourth time now (of this "final" call) in a couple months. It's a young-adult Afro-american voice saying "process service center." A search at national BBB by ph # brings up nothing. Same results from switchboard.com and whitepages.com. A search of national BBB for 'Process Service Center' brings up a handful of listings, none of which show ph #'s matching this 1-877 #. Calling that number gives the same "this number has been disconnected or not in service" message that W just noted. From experience in the industry, 'winnng a free car' or choice of '4 other top gifts' and 'not a timeshare' tells me it's likely vacation-related, possibly vacation-club or camping membership. It's a totally random cold robo-call, despite what 'Tony' says that he "is mindful of Do-Not-Call status, etc. Interesting that its continuing, noting that robo-calling has been illegal since Sept. Also I AM on both Fla and federal do-not-call lists...
- Caller: n/a
- m Fla replies to Jim, Viera FL'Jim' (Florida):
I wonder if EVERYONE receiving this call is in Florida, or the southeast.(notice everyone posting here over the past two weeks is from fla). If this is a robo-call going out via VOIP, as I suspect, reverse ph lookup is useless--one time it will give you a cell provider outside of Chi-town, next a number in ME, next one in NM. I strongly suspect this is the body-grabbing marketing arm for a vacation-club or campground-membership selling company looking for chumps from Florida. - s Florida replies to m FlaFor such a good response, what's with the attitude 'duh' ... you evidently listened to it several times to try and hear what his said. Next time it would be helpful to provide information to help others without the attitude.
- sabfunny. apparently, tony claims that i have won a car [mind you that i never entered in to win]. today must be my lucky day... being fully aware that this was nothing but a scam, i called the number to verify a few things. the number, of course, is disconnected. now, how am i going to claim my big prize?! please be aware of these calls and NEVER EVER give out more information than you feel comfortable giving.
interestingly enough, i too, am calling from florida.- Call type: Unwanted
- PattySame as above, Tony from what sounds like ? civic center (m fla, don't need a duh.) Same details as everyone else. Tony left the 877 number but my caller ID registered 708 248 7314 (Group Mitchell)
- Caller: Group Mitchell
- STK - ILReceived the same message from Tony. I have not entered any drawing so this must be divine intervention that I won something. Called the number back within 30 minutes to claim my prize but it was disconnected.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- LAJ in FLAIt's now February 24th and Tony is still making calls and leaving messages...I called the number and got the "number is out of service or disconnected" recording.
(Really, m fla, "duh" was uncalled for - it was difficult to understand Tony's message...and he COULD have been saying civic center) - sswSame as the rest of you. Tony sure is busy! Also in FL
- Caller: Unknown Caller
- DonnaSame as the rest of you. Received a message last night. I'm in fl as well. It's hard to tell what center he said he is representing. I couldn't make it out. I did not call back. Thanks to all of you for taking the time to post.
- Caller: "PRIVATE" number
- Pat FlI got a call from Tony and said I had won a prize. He said I filled out an entry form and I won a top prize. He left a message and a no. When I called the no. back it wouldn"t go through. It said private number on the caller ID. I'm going to register a complaint. I wish there was some way to get rid of all the unnessary calls from these jerks that have nothing better to do. I say get a job.
- Caller: Private no,
- Cee Kay, Fla| 1 replySame call, same message, same call back ph.#/extension 877-279-3459 x109. Had to listen to message about 10x before I finally figured out he was saying "product fulfillment center" and not " ??? civic center." Figured it was a scam, but who knows...I'll never turn down a free car so I called back. Same disconnected number message. Guess it's not my lucky day after all :-).
- Caller: Group Mitchell 708-248-7314
