debt collector

At first this guy tried to be a buddy telling me my credit was good etc....and then when I questioned it this guy chewed me out and told me off like I was a little kid. Told me he had heard enough from me ... and I was ignoring a debt.  He would not listen to me telling him the amount was incorrect he became more annoyed and started to talk over me. I asked him age of debt and he came back with this is nothing to do with statute of limitations.  Its these guys that have to hide behind a non published phone number god knows where in a sleazy little office trying to get anything they can get.  When you fight them on it they ---cant handle it.  He wouldnt give me the address of where he was either... you know where this place is 877-326-3284?????????????????????/

This is the second time I have received a call for the same family number from this sleazy office.  It is a scam, and when you ask for details, they freak and start yelling at you.  Total scam.  It has happened to many people in my family for same person.  These people should be arrested.

the guy "Mr. Miller" said that they were going to subpoena me in Virginia, so I think that is where they are.

I received the same call, and these people are extemely rude.Can someone tell me some more information regarding this company. Also what has anyone done against these people. Any advice????

Some woman called here by the name of Ms. Campbell.  She says that my mother has a legal matter with her company.  It's a total fraud.  This is not the first time this has happened with this number.  We've called this number back a few times too and everyone who has answered has been very rude.

they are calling my daughter in the military and demanding info about her older sister using the older sisters madien name. which has not been her name in over 10 yrs. then this morning they called her again and said"consider yourself served" "now you are resonsible for the debt"
there is no debt and they are really stepping over the line...some body needs to stop these people...

Received a call for my 16 year old nephew who lives in another city! When I called back and asked what type of company CR Associates, the answer was "it depends on what we are trying to accomplish."

As I pressed to provide company info, the woman became rude and hung up.

Would a legimite company be so evasive and hang up when asking what they do?

Callerdentified herself as Ms Campbell from CR.Left a message for a person I've never heard of.

Man named Mr. Gibson called looking for my brother. Threatened me and said my brother or his lawyer needed to contact them concerning a matter with the government. I talked to my brother and he doesn't owe any debts! Everything sounded fishy so I looked them up and what do you know...looks like a scam to me!

Woman named Ms. Jenkins called asking for my son on an "urgent matter". I told her he doesnt live here. She said he is in serious trouble and doesnt know about it yet and she wants to get his side of the story. I asked what kind of trouble and she said it was imperative I get him right away. I told her I wouldnt be hearing from him for a few weeks as he is out of the country.  Got loud and rude and insulting so I hung up on her.

I just received a call from a Mr Miller saying he was calling from C R Associates about a case I had.  I have not received any information about a case in the mail or any other fashion.  He also saying he wanted a final statement and I have not idea what he was trying to talk about.  I was trying to get more info but he got a little annoyed.  I just hung up and he called back leaving a message.  He got my name right, but how come this is the first time I have heard something from "CR Associates" about a case.  It seems like he was trying to "phish" out some information from me.  He asked for me but I didn't say it was me but he just continued on.  Is there something we can do to stop the phone calls.  They are really rude people.

my wife received a call from this number as well.  ref 717821 concerning some legal matter involving my dad.  i havent called back i wanted to google it first, guess its a fraud.

I GOT THIS CALL TODAY...TRACKED IT DOWN USING THE TRUSTY GOOGLE...TURNS OUT THEY'RE DEBT COLLECTORS WITH SOME OUTDATED INFORMATION. THE DEBT WAS PAYED WHEN I WAS IN COLLEGE AND HERE WE ARE COMING UP ON MY 10TH YR ANNIVERSARY. WHEN YOU TRY EXPLAINING THE PAYMENT THEY GET FRUSTRATED AND TELL YOU OPTIONS TO MAKING PAYMENTS...THE DEBT HAS BEEN PAID -- IDIOTS!!!

Ms. Campbell called for a family member we have had no contact with for over 10 years.  Rude women keeps calling leaving messages.

My husband and I was contacted by a MR Adair who was not very reasonable and threatened my husband with garnishment and jail time.  I am glad that everyone else confirmed my thoughts that this is a FRAUD!!!!  They are rude and when you ask for information on the company or the debt, they get upset and mention that they are not a collection agency but a legal firm!!!

I received a call from a Mrs. Jones from CR associaltes.  The call was trying to track down my brother who lives 2000 miles from me.  When I called the company back and tried to get info on the company and the file number they left on my message they immediately get hostile and say I better have my attorney call them and then hang up.  I wonder if they would repsond to a call from my attorney!

Scammy credit collection.  I love how they try to make it sound legal to get you to freak out.  "We need your final statement in this urgent matter."  Right...that's why you're calling from an 877 number that comes up as a Nevada area code on the caller ID.  

Send me a certified letter and then maybe I'll call you back.

Do collection agents have first names?

Here's a legal document I found that some of you may like to look at. It is the "Fair Debt Collection Practices Act" and it explains everything a collection agency can and can't do...very good read and it will make you more knowledgeable when these calls come in.
