I agree.  This place calls often and no one is on the line if I answer and if I don't, it does not leave a message.  Any idea how to get them to stop calling?

This number belongs to Bay Area Credit Service.  They are professional debt collectors.  If you have a debt and they have found your number or if someone previously had your telephone number owes a debt that they are trying to collect you will receive a call from them.  They will continue to call until someone talks to them.  Answer the phone and ask what they want or call the number back and a representative will come to the line.  I did.

Yep ... one daily call. I just let it ring, because I've been told that if you let it go to the answering machine, it will tell the computer to automatically call at the time there's a pickup. I don't know who they are nor what they want, but I'm sure it's a collection agency of sorts.

I get this call from this number all the time. Its is not a call for me, they are a creditor looking for someone else in my town. I have just had a very upsetting phone call from a rep that was rude then hung up on me. I called back and told them that they need to stop the calls to my home looking for some one else.

I am researching a sheet filled with the numbers of unknown callers that ring my home phone constantly. I see that this number, 877-337-0296, belongs to Bay Area Credit.  Another number that I was trying to identify is this one: 866-488-4299. According to the posts of people that have answered that phone call, the entity placing the call is True Logic, a collection agency. But, get this: True Logic appears to be a relative of Bay Area Credit.  Here is the contact information:

These organizations are like mosquitoes - they don't seem to have any meaningful purpose in their existences, all they want is your blood, and they're annoying when they decide to focus on you for awhile...and the way they seem to multiply! Perhaps a gigantic can of "OFF" may solve this little problem.

    Head Debt Collector:

    Richard B. Hunter

    Bud Says…

When Bay Area Credit Services Head Debt Collector Richard B. Hunter used the debt collectors slogan; ‘Your Bridge to Financial Recovery’ in his internet ad, did the people he was collecting for and from realize that bridge stretches all the way to INDIA?

When will cheapskate debt collectors like Richard B. Hunter realize that Americans do NOT want their personal information such as names, addresses, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, credit card numbers, social security numbers, employers, pay, supervisors, family members, neighbors, licensing information and other VERY personal information shipped to a foreign country just so he can save a few bucks on labor.

Richard, how DUMB are you? A thorough search of your website does not give a HINT to the fact that you have taken it upon yourself to place this HIGHLY sensitive information on perhaps ten, or hundreds of thousands of AMERICAN citizens in the hands of a foreign nation where you have WHAT? Control over it.

How many of the creditors you collect for are aware of your stupidity Richard? INDIA is NOT AMERICA; they do NOT understand our laws, you have put many, many people at risk to line your own pockets, what kind of a NUT are you Richard? To say they are properly trained is ridiculous; to lie and tell anyone this information is safe is criminal. You have sent all this to one of the crime capitals of the world, that’s REAL bright of you Richard. Now you can make more money without worrying if your actions may result in additional crimes on innocent Americans.

Consumers are URGED to make Richard B. Hunter aware of his stupidity by immediately sending the FREE cease communication letter VIA fax to his offices in California. I also recommend that you warn him that he will be held liable for any intrusions into your personal records by anyone he out sources to.

Any organization doing business with Bay Area Credit Services and US Audit Control should be avoided at all costs. Richard B. Hunter, Bay Area Credit Services and US Audit Control should be placed on the watch list for Homeland Security; this man’s GREED is putting too many consumers at risk.

If you receive calls from this number, find the address at www.bidhibbs.com and send them a "CEASE COMMUNICATIONS" letter.  This should end the calls, and if it doesn't, you can file complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, your state's Attorney General's Office, and the Better Business Bureau. Even threatening to do so will usually stop the calls.
