These people called initially from an unlisted phone number and left a message about serving me paperwork to appear in court.  They left the 8773373939 number to call, with a reference number to the case.  It sounds legit and they were good at the bait and switch wheeling and dealing.  IT IS A SCAM.  Don't fall for it.  They are using different names to try to get money out of you, by claiming that you have a bad check claim being filed against you for a debt from some time around 2008.  Again, if you get a call from a Paul Hastings, claiming to be a process server and you talk to a Jeffrey Young at Westpoint Associates....it looks and sounds legit, but IT IS A SCAM!!!!

On 4/17/13, I received a call from a restricted number. The person identified themselves as an independent legal courier named James Thompson. He asked for my mom by name and said he had my number as a contact number (but never mentioned my name). He said that he has certified legal documentation for a certified notice of intent for her to appear in court and needed it signed by no later than 4/19/13.He said that if there were any questions, she needed to contact the Filing Party (never mentioned their name) at 877-337-3939 and reference a case filing # (which he also provided). Before relaying this info to my mom, I searched the website and just as I suspected, this number is a SCAM. I will not go through the process of even trying to call the 877# because 1) if they were looking for my mom they would have called her or sent her something in a mail 2) if Mr. Thompson needs a document signed, how come he didnt leave his information???
