I got a call from this number today and they actually left a message.  It was a man who didn't identify himself by name or company but said that he was legally obligated to inform me about a bounced check that I needed to call them back on or they would be sending paperwork to my home or place of business.  I haven't bounced a check in over 10 years.  I do know that someone else may be giving people my number because when I went to a new oil change place and gave them my number they asked me if I was someone else.  I've had this number for about 12 years. However, if they don't give their name or company name, pretty sure it's a scamming scare tactic.  Blocking it.

Extortion scam.
Criminals are masquerading as debt collectors in an attempt to extort money from people by scaring them into believing that:
a.    You are going to be sued and it will cost you lots of money when they allegedly “win” their case.
b.    That they are about to file criminal charges or that you will be criminally charged (they use the bad check or hot check claim a lot) and go to jail, even though debt is civil not criminal, there are no criminal charges, and debtor’s prison was outlawed over 200 years ago.
c.    That they will take away your driver’s license.
d.    That will garnish your wages without actually being suing you, going to court, or even winning a case and obtaining a judgement followed by a judge’s consent to the garnishment.  They also claim that your wages will be garnished in amounts far above all legal limits.

Got the same call today as Jamie.  Have not bounced a check. No idea what he was talking about. SCAM!!!

Got a call and they said it legal matter and I have a case number and need to call them right way to Seattle the payment. SCAM!!!

Different numbers have been calling me for the past 2 weeks saying they have papers to serve me and I need to call 877-343-9667 to resolve it.  I have ignored the calls.  Today my boss at work received a similar call for me saying I had not responded.  I am unable to find out who this company is.

They called me and left me a message telling me that I have accusations against my name. He said that it would be in my best interest to contact the 877-343-9667 number!  I knew that when I called back, that it was a scam! He threatened to sue me, and take me to court. Also threatened to garnish my wages! When I told him that I knew this was a scam, he became agitated and hung up the phone!  Too Funny! God will bring judgment upon these people for mishandling innocent people, who has had a tough time with finances!
