- Nimrod| 3 repliesReceived a call from 970-368-3874 (most likely spoofed) on my work phone while I was away from my desk.
The following robocall message was left on voicemail:
Male voice read through the pre-recorded message, but was hard to understand due to static and distortion in the audio (required several replays to make all of it out). Suspect that it started playing when the voicemail picked up and played through the outgoing announcement then repeated until the recording limit was reached (which would explain the partial sentence before the greeting), so what I ended up with is not the complete message.Quote:…matter with a member of our team.

- Nimrod replies to StephanieWhile a credit freeze is a good practice, it is not necessary for something like this since these scammers do not have any of your financial information, unless you are foolish enough to give it to them.
Scams like this will use automatic dialing equipment to call thousands of numbers (having no idea who they are calling), hoping to find just a few people who actually applied for a loan and who are gullible enough to believe that the caller is connected with their loan application. The "vital update" this scammer is referring to may be a claim that the application forms changed and they need to "verify" the applicants information to transfer it to the "new forms" (thus getting the victim's financial information) or it could be as simple as a claim that there is a "fee" that needs to be payed right away to process the loan.
Whatever the "vital update" might be, it does not matter if the scammers are not called back. - no i did notloan scam "This is a critical Message from Speedy Credit. Phone number 8773461334, regarding the finalization of your personal loan application. You're potentially eligible for up to 100 thousand dollars, but we need to verify some final pieces of information. - LymanI've been getting 4-7 calls from these idiots for about a month now. All spoofed numbers, but Google sends 85% of them directly to voicemail. The amounts vary (60k to 100k) and sometimes it's debt consolidation and other times it's economic impact loan.
